I love me some diner food but this was only okay for me. We came on a Friday morning and the service was excellent (staff was personable and efficient) but the food was only okay. We got the chicken fried steak, chili cheese omelette, and coffee. The chicken fried steak was a bit rubbery but tasted all right; however, the gravy was thick and didn't seem homemade. The chili cheese omelette was all chili but that wasn't the bad part - the bad part was that it was Hormel chili! This was definitely not homemade. Not that I should admit it, but I totally recognized the chili as they set it down in front of me. Now, I know that places like this can't possibly make everything from scratch but I really couldn't believe that the best thing we had here was the coffee and toast. Even the hash browns and "those potatoes" were bland and mushy. Additionally, the price didn't match the quality. Overall, I'd come here in a pinch but I wouldn't make it my regular, go-to breakfast place.

Yuck. Perhaps the worst breakfast I've ever had the displeasure to have eaten. Worst of all, I had to pay for it. I'm sorry but folks around here must have no taste (buds) to give it such a rave review. Egg whites uncooked, mushy hash browns that tasted like a wet towel, and bitter coffee. Name fits cuz service was definitely snooty. No greeting no follow up on food. Only decent person was the hostess.

We were looking for a place to eat breakfast close to Mission Viejo and El Toro and this place came up. We decided to give it a try. It's in a strip mall and it's a real small place. The decor hasn't been updated at least since the 80's, but everyone raved about it. We waited for about 20 minutes for a table. It's not a great place for large parties since the place is small. The food was really good and the service was excellent. The portions for breakfast were large. We got pancakes, eggs benedict, waffles and a spinach omelet. Everyone liked the food and said they would come back. All said, the food was priced well. Portions were good size and the service was good. It's a hole in the wall place only locals know about...or if you look it up on Yelp.

No matter what you ordered everything is delicious here and large portions. Price very reasonable. Not only a great quick stop for food also close to the freeway.

Your first cup of coffee is the breakfast handshake to an introduction. - "Welcome, let us underwhelm you with this weak cup of black, hot water!... 'Unimpressed? Great!" However, at The Snooty Fox you won't have that problem! Photo - yelp.com/biz_photos/the-… Whenever I visit a restaurant for breakfast, weak, murky, watered down water trying to impersonate a cup of coffee will start everything off on a negative note from the start. Although the coffee here wasn't as robust & bold as I prefer, it was still a solid cup... 'Always a good sign. "The Snooty Fox is a popular, local hot spot known for its good food..." 'Still. My friend, VH, is a huge biscuits & gravy fan... Me, not so much. I was telling her about The Snooty Fox, a solid neighborhood favorite! Note: The average clientele here are AARP qualified. (i.e. - "May I get an extra seat for my oxygen tank?") Hey, I'm not judging folks, merely reporting. **However, on occasion, there have been some pre-geriatric sightings. You know "that" coffee shop/diner that you see in b/w photos or TV shows from the 60's/70's, it's kinda retro-cool like that... 'And awesome! It's a nice change from the "Everywhere" commercial restaurants like Denny's and Cocos. I had the Eggs Benedict Breakfast and it hit the spot... 'Both plates were hearty & delicious. (Leftovers for everyone!) I've been here a number of times & keep hearing about their Philly Cheese Steak... Well, that and their meatloaf sandwich! It's on my to-try list along with half a dozen other menu items. Eggs Benedict - yelp.com/biz_photos/the-… VH ordered the biscuits & gravy, aka "The Snooty Breakfast," and it received a big thumbs up! She works about 10 min. down the road and was happy to find a spot close to work to come and get her biscuits & gravy fix. Photo - yelp.com/biz_photos/the-… *Plus 2 cups of coffee Grand Total: $22.87 ( + Tip) If you've never been to The Snooty Fox, drop on in for breakfast or lunch, you won't be disappointed. Looking for a great spot to talk business and pour back some strong coffee this is it. . Locals kind of place. Terrific breakfast spot hidden away behind some typical chain restaurant (not to be mentioned). This one of a kind gem has great food, friendly staff and a few daily surprises on the menu board. They serve generous helpings, so be ready to leave full and satisfied. They have an enclosed patio which is great to soak up the Sun while carrying on with your meal. If you have a sweet tooth, they also have some sweet baked goods prices. Today the specialty was a 4 layer chocolate blackout cake. I missed out today. .I did not save any room for dessert not to mention it was still breakfast time. But if I notice they have that cake again I think I'm going to start off with that.

We've been coming here for over 30 years! The food is always great and you always get a very generous portion at an extremely reasonable price! Favorites are the Reuben, deep fried French toast, Spinach Delight Omelette, Eggs Benedict, biscuits and gravy and pancakes! Honestly, we haven't found anything we haven't thoroughly enjoyed yet! The coffee is always fresh and the staff makes you feel right at home! Perfect little diner for breakfast, lunch, brunch or dinner! Yummylicious!

I decided to try this little place because it's very close to my office. So, I headed here for lunch. When I walked in, I warmly was greeted, which I always appreciate. I placed a to-go order: chef salad and iced tea. The service was excellent and very quick. The salad looks really good. I am however, a bit bummed they forgot my salad dressing. I was in hurry, and relying on them to make sure, I didn't check to see if it was in the bag. Since, I was already back at my office when I noticed, there wasn't time to go back and ask for it. I didn't have any dressing at my office:(. So, I picked at it, but a salad is just lettuce without dressing. It looked and tasted fresh, though. I just really wanted to try the home made salad dressing. Pretty disappointed about that.

This is the perfect place to go to when you're craving that classic american breakfast. Super homey and all the people are so nice and helpful. You can tell that this is family run and that everyone who is there, wants to be there. Great place to take anyone really, just soo comfortable to be in. EGGS FLORENTINE: YES YES YES. Firstly, the portion size is soo huge, that you could probably go away with eating half and saving the rest for later. The eyes are poached to perfection and lead way to a perfect breaking with the fork. The spinach adds the "health" value to this dish, making me think i ate a super healthy meal. the spinach actually adds eggs and helps keep the dish exciting, not making you tired of the dish. COUNTRY FRIED STEAK: I loveeeeee fried foods and this is one of the best. TIP: get it with a poached egg. That might be a weird combo but it works! the steak just soaks up the egg and it transforms the whole dish. Overall, perfect place to go to for cheap eats. Will leave you feeling super happy, full, and a box full of leftovers.

Nice hole in the wall, diner food style place. Food is ok, nothing that will blow your mind, but the service is on point. Definitely worth a stop for breakfast if in the area.

If you're looking to just grab a breakfast and be on you way; this place is better than Denny's, Coco's and etc...etc Great service too!!!

I've been going to The Snooty Fox for several years. From the minute you walk in the door you get the feeling that you're in a well established hidden gem generally packed with locals! Their best asset is their breakfast served all day. The menu is quite extensive and the portions are hearty. The food is a cross between home cooked comfort food and delicious greasy spoon. I've never had bad service and never left hungry or disappointed. The only downside is that Sat/Sun morning there can be quite a wait.....it's well worth it and I would highly recommend them.

  • Jill L.

I've been coming to this hidden gem for years! I'm afraid if people find out about it, it will be too crowded for me. With 3 pages of breakfast items, watch out for the specials like fresh pastrami for corned beef omelettes. These are good old fashioned breakfasts... nothing fancy. But much better quality and a ton of choices... than what you find at IHOP or Dennys!

  • Ash Z.

Came here for breakfast over the weekend and was not disappointed. Yes, there was a wait (about 20 min or so for a table for 2) but it's worth it. We ordered the eggs Benedict and steak and eggs with biscuits. Eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly. There were so many items on the menu that looked good so we might have to make a few return visits to try it out!

My office is nearby and a group of us decided to try this place out. I liked what I ordered the Eggs Florentine with the hollandaise sauce on the side and "those potatoes". The Chicken Fried Steak was alright, I didn't like how the Steak was separated from the batter when I cutted right into it, I mean the steak as a whole fell out of the fried batter. Service is busy and a little overwhelmed I felt. The place is a small spot, so be expected to wait a little bit.

We used to come here as far back as 1989 when we were seriously dating, then after we got married, through our daughter's early childhood, then stopped. Recently, in June, we returned to a disappointing breakfast. We used to order the biscuits and honey, but the biscuits are usually warm. These look like they were thrown on a plate, then thrown at us. It used to be good, but it is just a disappointment with unfriendly wait staff, horrible coffee, and you wonder why they are still open since they no longer seem to care if their customers are happy. The red head needs to retire.

Saw this place on yelp and decided to try it yesterday. Down home good cooking in a laid back setting. It's exactly what I was hoping for. Friendly service and the food was delicious! I had a croissant breakfast sandwich and a cinnamon roll. Incredible! So good!

Did a search for breakfast / brunch places over the weekend and this mom and pop place popped up on the radar. Definitely seemed like a local favorite - especially for the older crowd. It was packed and they have tables and chairs fitted into every square inch of space. Ordered the french toast with two eggs and ham. The ham was really tasty and the eggs were cooked to order. I would say that the french toast was just okay - I'll probably opt to give the pancakes a go on the next visit. The staff was friendly and checked in on us regularly. Overall: A- Get the ham, skip the french toast, you may have a wait since it's smaller and pretty popular!

Every time we have come here, we have great prompt service and the food is always really good. It gets busy on the weekends from 10am-12:30pm. So the trick is, come after 1pm and grab a seat and some great food, but remember they close at 3pm, so don't come too close to 3. Very much like an old diner style spot, very casual.

  • Jason F.

Good, friendly, diner. My breakfast included "those potatoes", biscuits and gravy (The Snooty Fox). Adding peppers with hash brown make a world of a difference. They were tasty. The gravy with my biscuits and sausage were spot on.

  • Samantha H.

Hearty portions and great options. Satisfies any runny yolk or hash brown craving you may have. We also ordered strawberry pancakes and it looked like they topped the pancakes with a pound of sliced strawberries, which is generously delicious. It's a bit busy during brunch times but worth the wait.

  • Brandon G.

Overall good breakfast. Good service, cool little place. I know I'm from the Midwest but the biscuits & gravy out here is just terrible across the boards. Also having all the egg combos $10-12+ seems a little high for a hole in the wall breakfast place when it doesn't even include a coffee or drink. But I would come back, lunch menu looked tasty!

Came here early on a Saturday morning which made the wait not too horrendous. As others mentioned, this place does remind me of a leisure world.. The crowd is mainly comprised of senior citizens. I ordered their bacon breakfast burrito with their "those potatoes". Came out hot. The breakfast burrito had scrambled eggs, tomatoes, bell peppers, onion and bacon all inside a flour tortilla. Portion size was huge, could easily split this with another person. Flavor wise, it didn't impress me. Every time I bit into the burrito, oil would flow out the bottom. It was enough to make me feel bad after taking a bite. Those potatoes are hash browns that have onions and bell peppers incorporated into the hash. Didn't really impress me either. I would have been happy with regular hash. Price, approx $9. By the way, they are will charge you for extras and substitutions. Service was good. We were seated, waiter took our drinks and food orders. The time it took for the food to arrive after we ordered was a bit of a wait but it's understandable since the place was packed. Re-visit? Probably not.

Unbelievable portions for a good price. Absolutely delish. A friend recommended this place and we are glad we listened to them. Fast friendly service and not a lot of time went by between ordering and getting our food. When in the area we will return As you can see by our pic we had eggs Benedict and corn beef hash and eggs with biscuits and gravy instead of toast. YUM. Enough food to last us all day. Gloria, Thanks for the wonderful service and making us feel welcomed

  • Nora N.

This place was very old fashioned.. It's got that.. crowded Ihop after church in a small town feel. The servers were all very pleasant. They were good with coffee top-offs. The wait wasn't more than 15 minutes on a Sunday before lunch but I hear that's lucky? I ordered the Heuvos Rancheros and it was beautiful. Decorated with an orange slice and parsley. You can order hashbrowns with onions and peppers mixed in and those are pretty good too. The food was definitely good but for the wait? I think i'd be happier someone else. To chat and eat in a peaceful environment. Not much privacy because everything is packed together. I suppose it's easier to borrow someone's ketchup! Even though it's an older crowd.. it was still a little hectic for me. If ever invited to go back I would, solely for the coffee being better than most breakfast places.

  • Vanessa S.

Oh Snooty Fox, why did I wait so long to come back to you? Your portions are still generous, just how I remember them, even after all of these years. The Harvest omelette was fantastic... piping hot, filled to the brim with sautéed broccoli, spinach, onions and mushrooms... and of course I had it smothered in hollandaise. Mmm! It also comes with 3 cheeses.. cheddar, mozzarella and swiss! I paired it with biscuits and gravy, which sent me over the top... I was in heaven! I forgot to add avocado on top of the omelette, but I won't forget next time. I would've given you guys 5 stars, but your prices have gone up quite a bit. For the size of the portions though, I can't complain much. I still love you guys, and I'll be back again soon! P.S. Wondering about that chocolate cake on your menu... I love chocolate cake! And your pocket menus are not only darling, but convenient. : )

Yeeeee ha! Hehehehe. This place is yummy. Good quality sausage, yummy pancakes, and some off the hinges bacon? Yes, please! Prices a tad high though...but I would still prefer coming here over Denny's anytime. Service was friendly and the bathroom were clean. This place is a tad hidden so if you don't look the right way, you can miss it. Parking was easy and the place was a full house. Their prices were a tad high as my boyfriend and I both got breakfast with water and the bill came to almost $30 but I really would like to try their lunch or dinner.

I love The Snooty Fox and I'm so sad that we don't live in Aliso anymore to visit as often as we used to! Sure, this restaurant looks a little run-down and when you step inside you feel like you were thrown back a few decades, but don't let the decor fool you. I stick to the brunch menu and the eggs benedict and Super Fox always hit the spot. It's incredibly filling and affordable for all of the food you get. The servers are characters and are incredibly friendly and happy to help. Service is always great, and I can understand some of the reviews that say it's crappy but that's what you get during the breakfast rush. Honestly, this isn't a five-star, celebrity chef, no substitution restaurants, but there are some talented line cooks and super-star staff that work there. This place isn't anything fancy, but you'll definitely leave feeling full and like you were eating with family.

I've been here a few times with my coworkers, and every time, the service and food are top-notch. This place has that quaint, classic diner feel, and the staff is always friendly and attentive. The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is very old fashioned. I will be coming here often!

I had avoided going to The Snooty Fox because it gave me a vibe of being a Leisure World hang-out. So, after 3 1/2 years of working 2 blocks away, I finally gave in and checked it out for lunch. There were some Leisure World types, but there were also business people, young couples and families--the place was freakin' packed! It's nothing fancy, kind of plain, and the I'm sure the wallpaper is the original from when it was opened 20 years ago, since I'm quite sure they no longer make wallpaper like that anymore! Service was super efficient. As soon as guests left, the table was bussed, cleaned and set up for the next customers. Food was brought out really fast--which I appreciate during my lunch hour from work. I was in the mood for a basic grilled cheese. Once again, plain, simple, nothing fancy, but it was exactly what I wanted. It was huge, too. I got the macaroni salad as a side, although I wouldn't suggest doing that. It's that gross bulk kind of macaroni salad. I think I'll splurge the extra 99 cents and get the fries next time. But that means there will be a next time. Most of the 'restaurants' in my Laguna Hills/Lake Forest office area are 'order at the counter' places. I prefer to have someone wait on my ass!

The Snooty Fox is a great place for breakfast When we (3) arrived around 10am there were quite a few people waiting but the system was organized there and the manager? was outside often to check the flow of waiting customers. Once we got in, our orders were taken in a few minutes and it was worth the wait ( which was not long considering the 3 parties ahead of us! Food was absolutely delicious and serves just as ordered: delicious veggie omelette with melange of spinach, tomatoes, onions, and other veggies covered in a Hollandaiae sauce. The other dishes were eggs Benedict and special of scrambled eggs with homemade biscuits and gravy, and hash browns. Highly recommend!!!!!

I had breakfast on the patio with my son and dog. Good breakfast. I had the Eggs Florentine. He had tuna on a croissant. They were a little busy.....but overall were still attentive. Our waitress even brought my dog a cookie!

Great little spot for breakfast/brunch. Had the eggs and french toast (grilled) with strawberries. My first time here and it seems like a local hangout. Great food for a great price and the service was fast. I will definitely try to get back to The Snooty Fox for a bite to eat.

Well worth the wait!! We will become a regular of this place. We met an 81 year old 8 year patron who invited us to sit with him. Such a divine appointment. While waiting we were given coffee. Food was super good. Great service, friendly. Definitely going back.

We came here after searching on Yelp for some local breakfast spots. We came on a Sunday expecting to have a wait time, but we were able to sit within one minute of arrival. The place was busy - don't get me wrong! The staff was just really on top of it. Our food came out quickly, and it was nice and warm. The food itself wasn't the best we've ever had (We had eggs benedict and french toast), but it was tasty and worth what we paid. We will definitely be coming back to try more of their menu! :)

  • Shameena S.

Snooty is the right name but too bad the food doesn't compensate for the truly terrible service. We went on my birthday and there was no recognition of it. The hash browns were awful - no flavor and the middle was raw. The sausage was something I could buy from the frozen good section at the grocery store. I would not recommend eating here unless you are a glutton for punishment - no pun intended. Don't waste your time or money!

    (1)
  • Shannon S.

Greasy food - nothing special. Rude service. Man who seated me couldn't mutter a hello & woman server could care less. For a "neighborhood" type of restaurant, left with a very non-neighborhood feel. First and last.

    (2)
  • Brad M.

It's not bad but nothing special either. If you are looking for a Denny's with another name then this is your place. It's good American food. An extremely large menu so anyone can find something, especially if you aren't Heath conscious. Service was fine but expect old school waitresses that have been there for 25 years. They know how it works and are straight and to the point.

    (3)
  • Ted S.

I've been to the Snooty Fox several time over the years. It's just close to home and a place I go when I feel like diner fare for breakfast. I have to say though, that nothing is ever really good. It's always just okay, but I feel their prices are off the mark. I feel like I've been jipped every time I get the check. (No offense to any Gypsy yelpers...) While I would not suggest a trip there for good food, I will likely go again, and again, perhaps once a year, for a breakfast of desperation.

I go there 3 or 4 times a month. My go to breakfast is the spinach omelet. For lunch there Tuna fish is the best around. They have real waitresses not a bunch of teenagers in-between text messages.

I could make this really brief and say "Mmm", but that just wouldn't be like me ;). The service was friendly and fast, when I arrived the house was packed but I still waited less than 5 minutes and once I ordered my food arrived within a few minutes. The food was delicious and the servings were substantial. I had something not on the menu (thank you to my server for suggesting it) Spinach Delight Omelette sub a pancake for the toast. Definitely a place I will return to. If you are looking for a hearty delicious meal, you can't go wrong here.

I would give another star if the waitress was nicer. When I arrived I was seated right away. I was looking at the menu while waiting for my friend. The waitress came by to take my order and I said I was waiting for someone. She seemed frazzled by that. She came by again and asked where he was. I said he is almost here. She said they are not supposed to seat people until the entire party is there. She was making me feel very uncomfortable... the hostess didn't ask if my party was there she just sat me, not my fault. When my friend arrived we ordered and the food was good. Except for the biscuit. It was undercooked and the gravy was nothing special. I had the ground beef, onion, mushroom, and cheese omelet and that was really good. So food was a B+, service attitude was a D.

This was neither spectacular or above average, rather just average. I had the salsa burrito which contained scrambled eggs, peppers, onions with a ranchero salsa on top with avocado. It comes with cheese in it and sour cream which I declined on both. The tortilla was like something u would get from Ortega from the grocery store. Although it was a big burrito, it was fair. It came with "those potatoes" which are hash browns mixed with green peppers and onions. I love has browns but even these were fair. We got a cinnamon roil and guess what? It was fair. Total cost for two breakfasts including roll and two sodas $30. Returning? No way.

Good ambiance - if you are into old school, mediocre breakfast food. I searched yelp for "pancakes" because I am on a mission to discover the best pancake in south OC, and Snooty Fox came up. I did not read the reviews, because I was already driving. For all I know, it said "don't go there for pancakes". Don't go there for pancakes. Mine were dry and tasteless. No amounts of salted butter (doesn't anyone serve pancakes with unsalted butter?) and maple syrup could help me work up my appetite. This may have been the only time in my life I did not finish my pancakes. And I only ordered two. Mine came with egg over medium, which was fine, and two strips of bacon, which were shriveled and cold. Coffee was very average. No taste, but not burnt. And refills came quickly. With all that negative stuff said, it was fun to check out the photos and clippings on the walls and the crowd. There was a large war veterans breakfast going on, not sure if they are there every morning, or I was just lucky.

The place reminds me of an old style diner. The waitress's have been doing this for a while and they run the place like a clock. Food portions are healthy and generally its a really hearty breakfast that's made well. I have been back a few times and will probably be back again...

A solid spot for traditional breakfast. The French toast is great! The hollandaise sauce used for the Eggs Benedict is clearly from a can, so stay away from that. The service is friendly , the coffee is hot, the French toast is good. All around a good place for breakfast

  • Ritika T.

This place is okay if what you're craving is tons and tons of butter and grease. I felt incredibly sick after my meal here, which consisted of a spanish omelet and the most buttery English muffin I could ever imagine. Each bite of that muffin had more butter than the last. I literally had to pace back and forth in the parking lot afterward to try and digest my food and try to feel less gross. Don't get me wrong--I'm a huge fan of cheese...but their spanish omelet had more cheese than any other dish in my entire life. It was oozing with cheddar cheese and topped off with a thick solid bright orange slab of more cheese. And, unfortunately, I'm 95% sure that the salsa was from a jar called La Victoria. At least it tasted like it to the T. It's also not in the best location. We were seated right away, but it took forever for us to get clean utensils. I guess this is okay if all you want is some straightforward highly greasy American diner food. But, I've most definitely had better.

  • Allie K.

It's good to know I can get a decent breakfast close to home (Aliso Viejo) in a clean restaurant with excellent service....at a fair price. The only reasons I didn't give The Snooty Fox 5 stars were 1. The coffee is blah--worse than Denny's. (Hint: Bring your own!) 2. The Spanish sauce for the Spanish omelette is NOT homemade, authentic Spanish sauce--it's La Victoria salsa! But for ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits, and toast, you can't go wrong!! I will definitely return soon!

This palace of cholesterol has been around for years; how it manages to stay open is beyond me.! The entertainment in the eatery is; sitting in a chair which has been wiped countless times with a table rag and then one tries to get off the chair while it holds you tight from the sticky syrup. The other side is far better; watching the fat ladies try to get off the seats and listening to the skin peal away from the surface; it is hilarious to watch. Then there's the food; all served in war-worn table ware and plastic cups from the 60's gas station give-away deals. The eggs, and bacon and waffles are about as far from healthy eating as the 60's as well. The high cholesterol and fat content is enough to validate the ambulance constantly sitting on the side of the building; good call ambulance company mgr. As far as ambiance ; the only culture in the palace is home grown mold in the ice-machine. Try having a conversation over twelve heffer's seated around you and it's like eating in Green Acres and quite possibly a Foster Farm's hen cluck.. More Cluck For Your Buck here.. .the old hens seem to fill out the barrel chairs to their limits; another entertainment not mentioned on the menu. Good luck getting outa this place without a coronary bypass card.. it comes plastered on your windshield.. compliments of the Saddleback Hospital Heart Foundation... stuck there by the Ambulance Driver.. they know a good hot spot when they see one. !

Tried this place for the first time Deep fried french toast was pretty yummy and the eggs Benedict was good too! Waiter was also super nice!

Super popular among the blue hairs that live close by as well as the dog loves as dogs are allowed on the small patio. Nothing to special about the place besides the original wood paneled walls. Definitely a turn em and burn em kind of place as they can be quite crowded. Think we waited with about 7 other parties for our table, not too bad only about 15 minutes.

I visited my wonderful family in Lake Forest and we Yelped us some high-rated nearby breakfast. I'll keep it brief: Fast and delicious food. We came by on a rainy Sunday morning and despite the "bad" weather there was still roughly a 30 minute wait to get a table. Nothing unbearable by any means but for future visitors I can imagine it being significantly busier on a clear day. It's a smaller family friendly local breakfast spot off the freeway. It was pretty loud and bustling but had a warm atmosphere! After the minor wait we were seated, quickly able to order, and had a very brief wait until our food arrived. It was fast service for some hearty food. In my opinion there wasn't anything particularly exemplary about our meal but it certainly hit the spot. The menu has a quick note about their portion size and definitely take heed. They are very generous with the food. It was wonderful.

Three stars for today due to extraneous circumstances. The name was interesting so my Mom and I decided to try it out. Decor has old fashioned cafe and it has an older clientele. Its was also fairly busy, so we thought it would be good. Unfortunately they where working on the electricity for the block and the power went out a few minutes after we sat down. The wait staff was great though, making sure customers knew it was cash only as they came in and let them know upfront what items couldn't be fixed without electricity. Our waitress took our order quickly so we could get hot food while the grill was still hot. She was also attentive with refills and checking up on everyone. She also stayed cheerful even running around a hot restaurant without air conditioning. My bacon croissant sandwich was really good. Even though the kitchen was rushing, they didn't mess up the eggs. My Mom's Cottage cheese salad wasn't as good. The canned fruit tasted a little weird even for canned fruit and the salad was turning brown. We will try the place again when they aren't working on the electricity. I'm sure I will have a much better review next time.

I asked if the orange juice was fresh squeezed and it is not. They don't have chocolate chips to be added on to pancakes. There was no wait, which was nice, but we ended up leaving and going to Stacks in Mission Viejo.

The boyfriend and I decided to have a breakfast and ice skating date so I looked up some brunch places around this area and decided to try the snooty fox. :) It's definitely a cozy spot, no frills. Reminds me of going over to someone's home for some good ol' fashioned breakfast. Seat yourself wherever you please. Because we went on a Tuesday morning, there were plenty of seats available. They have a pretty extensive menu with lots of options. The boyfriend and I both love eggs benedict and neither of us wanted to budge, so he ended up ordering the eggs benedict with "those potatoes" and I got the eggs florentine with hash browns. Eggs florentine is basically like a vegetarian version of eggs benedict with spinach and tomatoes instead of ham. The food came out fast and our orders were delicious, we both loved the hollandaise sauce. It wasn't too rich or thick like it can be at other breakfast restaurants. My order came with plenty of spinach that was cooked perfectly and went wonderfully with the tomato, egg, and english muffin. The boyfriend loved his meal too and said it was one of the best eggs benedict he's had. His order had a thick cut of ham that tasted very fresh... Or so he says since I didn't touch any of the meat. I was surprised that there wasn't that much of a difference between "those potatoes" and hash browns. "Those potatoes" basically look exactly like hash browns but with green peppers and onions, I'd probably order those next time because the green peppers and onions definitely added extra flavor and in my opinion tasted better. Service was great! Boyfriend also got a coffee with his breakfast and the workers were always walking around refilling those cups of coffees. When we asked for ketchup and tabasco sauce, we got them pretty much instantly. Their waitresses are older ladies who seem like they've been here for a while and love it. They're very accommodating as well. I couldn't help but overhear the table next to us ordering, and each one of them wanted special accommodations to their meals (can someone say picky eaters...) and it was no problem at all! One of them ordered the eggs benedict with avocado and tomato instead of meat and another one of them added the eggs benedict with ham and avocado and the sauce on the side. Yum, so many options and there's still so many other breakfast entrees I want to try at Snooty Fox!

After spending about an hour on Yelp looking for an interesting place to have breakfast I decided to try The Snooty Fox. All I care about is the food and this place was awesome. I had the chicken fried steak with two eggs over easy and hash browns. I asked for my hash browns to be extra crispy and they were perfect. This dish also comes with two large biscuits and honey!! Wow, the portions are huge and you could easily share this dish. Really enjoyed my breakfast!

So yummy, so ridiculously yummy. Decor is dated but it adds to the ambiance. But that doesn't even matter, the food. Oh dear lord. The food. Got the omelette delight with a side of biscuits and gravy and "those potatoes" as well as the 3 pancake plate. First off, the pancakes are humongous. They're fluffy yet have a great chew and a delicious sweet flavor. The side of biscuits and gravy is also gigantic, 4 giant biscuits slathered in white gravy that puts mine to shame. The omelette was filled to the brim with sautéed veggies and covered in a dollop of sour cream and a mound of sprouts. Oh gosh, I almost forgot the potatoes. Pretty much hash browns with bell peppers and onions, good compliment to the omelette. Overall, a great place for breakfast/brunch/lunch. Definitely will be back here!

Superfan of this coffee shop! I came here on my way down to SD Comic-Con, starving and not expecting much. But this place was delicious! I had the veggie omelette, scrambled instead, add ground beef and alfafa sprouts. I was absolutely delighted by it! Do get their special toast. Man I wish it was around my neck of the woods cause that's where you would find me! The coffee was delicious and so were their hash browns~ *joy* It may seem a bit $$$ for you as you look upon the menu but once you get that plate in front of you, the ample portion and tasty food... It all makes sense.

Came here to kill some time before work since I had to drop off my BF at John Wayne SUPER early in the morning. It was this or Polly's Pies that was open at the time. I came here. When I got there at 7:30 AM, there were 2 other tables occupied. One was obviously a regular and another, a lone passer-byer busy with his newspaper. I got myself a window spot, and ordered: Hot Tea --- Tea bag + lemon + honey. Came in a cute metal tea pot. Deep Fried French Toast --- I don't know what possessed me to order french toast. I usually think it's too sweet but I've never seen a DEEP FRIED version before. Comes with eggs and bacon or sausage. Servers were older women, one was the kind that called you "sweetheart" and "honey," while the other was a no-fuss kinda gal. By 8:15 AM, the place was getting packed with old regulars and bikers done with their morning routine. Attention to my table got noticeably less as the packed house seemed a bit much for them to handle and my tea pot was left un-refilled for the nth time. As for the food, it was decent, but breakfast places typically don't wow me unless it's ultra cheap AND good. This was OK- with mediocre prices. My total with tip came out to be $12. TIP: When parking, steer clear of any spots that are close. I was sitting in my car after my meal looking at Yelp, when BAM, I heard a car door slam into my side which startled the shit out of me. It was some OLD LADY getting out of her car, and while I glared at her in disbelief, she gave the "WHATEVER, I'M OLD, I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT" look. Seriously. Good thing it didn't leave a dent! Anyway, if you're above 50 you'd enjoy the joint, but otherwise, I'd go somewhere else.

One of my favorite breakfast spots near work. Always crowded but great if you're feeling like a home-style breakfast. Staff is always friendly, prices are fair and portions are generous.

A fun neighborhood cafe. I would not call it 'Fine Dining' but it is a great value. The portions are substantial, the food is well prepared, they wait staff has been there forever and remembers you.

Three stars for the food, which was the expected greasy spoon fare. There was plenty of fresh, delicious avocado on my omelette, but nothing else of note, especially not "Those Potatoes" that were so touted on the menu. Two stars for the service. Once we were seated, we waited ten minutes until a busser took our drink order. It was another ten until our server - who passed us multiple times - took our food order. She barely said hello and rushed off as soon as we ordered. After our food dropped, she stopped for a millisecond to ask how everything was before rushing off again. She did the same thing about a minute later, and then we didn't see her until she dropped the check. Won't be returning. I can get better food at a better price with much better service elsewhere.

  • Bryan M.

To quote Jim Carry in Liar Liar "I've had better". The main dish was real tasty for me (eggs Benedict) but my side completely lacked seasoning (hash browns). Our service was also slow and inattentive. But the hits were better then the misses so to quote another movie "I'll be back"

  • Scott S.

That was the single worst breakfast burrito I have ever eaten. "For a steep $10," I thought, "this burrito better be spectacular." NOPE. The whole thing tasted like failure fried in disappointment and garnished with a hint of self-loathing. The onions were undercooked, the "salsa" was practically tomato water, the tortilla was soggy, the cheese was liquified, and few bites I managed to swallow were devastatingly bland. It didn't even smell fully-cooked. The ingredients were more pungent than the burrito itself, and they all seemed to blend together into a miasma of mediocrity. Breakfast burritos are one of the easiest dishes to cook. It's not like I asked for a Savory Soufflé - so for Snooty Fox to botch it this badly is downright impressive. In the end, I would have felt measurably more satisfied if I had simply saved my $10 and punched myself in the dick.

Came here after my car was finished at Vtec because of the good reviews on Yelp. We wanted to eat a good brunch. There was a little bit of a wait, place was pretty packed. I ordered the Bacon Breakfast burrito which came with "those potatoes" or whatever they're called, and one pancake ($2.50) and he ordered the French Toast (grilled and fried) which came with a piece of ham and scrambled eggs. The portions were really big! The pancake was delicious and huge!! The bacon in the breakfast burrito was definitely real bacon. The only thing I didn't like was it was not possible to eat the burrito with my hands, it was wrapped very loosely and with no paper wrapping so too hot to pick up! I love potatoes but wasn't the biggest fan of the "those potatoes". The piece of ham was really big as well. Between the fried and grilled frenchtoast, I definitely liked the grilled better, much less oily. The waitress was very friendly and they accepted cards and cash to make things easy.

This place is so amazing. I want to eat everything on the menu, but I end up eating the eggs florentine every single time I go. Other reviewers say that the food is not very high quality, but it is. It's fantastic food. The potatoes are made from scratch (but the OJ, just like all OC restaurants, isn't fresh squeezed).

  • R R.

Pretty decent food and service. Good for hangover recoveries after a wild Saturday night. They close pretty early, but it is worth dragging yourself and your boo out of bed for a recovery meal if you don't feel like cooking some breakfast/lunch. Slightly overpriced, but they have generous portions. Good service overall. I might be back someday.

  • Kimberly C.

Meh. Closest place when I was getting my car serviced. I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 because the service was good. The food was really not that great..I'm not coming back. I did see one of the waitresses flirting with a guy right in front of his girlfriend and they both got pissed...awkward.

  • Marcus E.

Bottom line: don't come here if you're hungry. If you think you *might* be hungry in an hour or so (plus driving time), and want mediocre food and bad service, then The Snooty Fox is for you. We waited twice as long as they said we would for a table -- about 50 minutes. Our party of 4 watched at least three parties of 2 get seated before us even though they arrived after us. We ended up having to sit on the patio because they were out of room inside. The food was decent overall, but nothing special, and the service was fair to poor. Nobody showed up for 10 minutes after we were seated, so we had to as ask a nearby employee if we had a server. Other tables who were seated after us had their food before we even placed our order. She forgot to bring several food items we requested, and gave us the wrong check at the end, which meant we had to wait even longer before we could leave. A friend recommended this place, so maybe they're hit-or-miss. But I won't be going back.

Snooty Fox is basically like a Denny's. Straight up just average food, lots of seating, nice staff, I think its a big spot for locals so thats why its always busy, but it is nothing special. Had the eggs benedict, not bad but not great. The A-OK three star rating is perfect for this place, its not bad enough for two but its also not four start worthy and not the kind of place I'd tell people I'm a fan of.

Love this place! Food is always consistently delicious and exactly what we're looking for. Amazing breakfast place. Servers have some attitude but I think that's part of the old timey breakfast place. We love it here.

I work across the street so this is where I usually get my quick fix of yummy melts, tuna sandwich or scrumptious piece of chocolate cake. Portions are huge and definitely bang for your buck. Not going to lie tho, everything I eat here gives me a zit the next morning, so greasy lol

First time here was today. They had a great breakfast menu and serve lunch items. There is not very much room to wait for you to get a table, people where waiting around the front of other businesses, in their truck bed and other places they could awkwardly stand in the sun. But once we got our table our food came pretty quick. They food was great, but the service was OK. I really wanted the strawberry French toast BUT it's okay seasonal so I was super disappointed.

Excellent food anything you eat here is guaranteed to be super delicious. The Reubens sandwich my favorite. Staff is always friendly and it's quick service. If you live or work in the Laguna Hills, Lake Forest area you need to give it a try and don't be surprised if you get hooked like me.

If you want comfort food, this is the place to go to! Matt T. by now, without a doubt, is a chicken fried steak expert, and he was incredibly happy with what he got. I got the Snooty Fox breakfast - sausage, biscuit, eggs and gravy. It really hit the spot, and next time I'm hung over, I know where to go! The only thing I would do differently next time is ask for gravy on the side. I know, blasphemous, but that shiz is so freaking good, I could drink it like soup! See you soon, Snooty Fox!

  • Audra R.

Ok yes I got the deep fried french toast and it was all that and a bag of chips, amaze balls, whatever obnoxious bit of foodthusiam you cant think of it was all that more. ;) Eggs Benedict was a bit heavy but still really outstanding. Hollandaise, thick ham, perfectly cooked eggs, etc. all done right . The hasbrowns could have been crispier but were solid. It was kitschy and homie, without being gross. Service was great. And I love the name, so there...

I love breakfast so we decided to come here because of the great reviews. Maybe my menu item was not the right one to order? I had the sunrise omelette and it was ok. I had to order salsa to give it some taste. I had "those" potatoes and it was just ok. Nothing memorable. Service was good, I don't mind the old school ambiance. I guess maybe I expected more taste! It wasn't bad..It wasn't great..It was ok ...

  • Derek B.

Casual atmosphere, family friendly, large portions, small prices. I used to get the chilli egg burrito (add bacon). So good. Lately, I find myself ordering eggs benedict or poached eggs. When I am super hungry, the deep fried french toast is the way to go. You could get pretty much anything and be happy though. Its all good. I almost forgot...the fried zuchinni here is among the best I've ever had. Its great.

This place makes me look forward to breakfast! I'm always rushing out of the house to get to work, and I can always count on the delicious food to get me energetic and ready for the day. Located right across the street from my office, my colleagues and I always take turns picking up breakfast. The breakfast burrito and french toast are my favorite. Their service is quick and wholehearted, and you always get a feel of your mom's cooking when you eat their food. I can't wait for my burrito already!!!!

Came here just a few weeks ago and I already can't remember what omelette I ordered and what it tasted like. Food was not bad, not amazing. Pretty big portions, reasonable prices, but nothing fantastic. Place was completely full on Saturday morning at around 9AM, but maybe because it's one of the only brunch places available in the area.

*sigh* Ok, I've heard of The Snooty Fox and I've seen it many times. We went in for breakfast looking for just something basic and that's what I'd describe it as...something basic. You can sit anywhere. So we did. I ordered pancakes and a side of egg whites and the bf ordered an Eggs Benedict. My pancakes were very dense and weren't light and fluffy at all. The egg whites were good. Overall the food was pretty bland which probably works for the demographics of the location. I don't think it's my type of place, but if you're in town visiting your grandparents they'd probably like this place. They're probably regulars.

Where do I start? Well it is best noting that I have been eating at Snotty Fox for thirty years. That's two husbands and a boyfriend ago (more about that later). One thing that is for sure is the consistency. This place has not changed in thirty years. That includes the decor, the employees and the food. It's like coming home for breakfast. I always have my favorite, the gourmet omelet, hold the sprouts....hashbrowns, biscuit with a side of gravy. BF always orders the number 11, both meats, Those potato's and sourdough toast. it's funny how life can change but Snooty Fox always welcomes you with the same familiar smile, a handshake from the owner and an occasional old neighbor or friend that you haven't seen in a long time. So BF and I laugh because the owner and servers look at us in a very confusing way. We have both frequented this restaurant over the years with various spouses. They don't know what to think! I can only imagine the secrets that they hold dearly and laugh about after hours. Thanks everyone!

Two things I love about this restaurant: one, they allow dogs on the patio, and two, they have incredible strawberry pancakes/waffles/french toast during the summer season. So from Memorial Day to Labor Day, I'll drop in for breakfast with my dog to get my strawberry fix. No other restaurant does it as good as they do. On the weekends it gets crowded, and there is often a wait if you are on the later side, for breakfast.

I came here starving after the escapades of the previous night. The menu had a nice variety of breakfast and lunch country style dishes and I had a little difficulty deciding what to get. I eventually opted for the snooty fox breakfast, after all they named it after the restaurant (or the restaurant after it?). Due to the aforementioned state of my appetite, I also split some pancakes with a friend and got a slice of ham. The biscuits and gravy with sausage (part of the snooty fox meal) were good, but not as good as some I've had. Those potatoes (hash browns with onion and green pepper) were also good, but not great like I was expecting. I was actually a little disappointed in the pancakes, as mine were slightly rubbery. The ham was also just average. Overall the food was good, but not great. Maybe I just ordered the wrong things though! As for the other aspects, it was a little crowded but nice on the inside overall. The decor is country style, very reminscent of what I imagine my grandmother's house to look like if she lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere. The waitress was a little snarky, which to me is a plus. The service was excellent and she made me chuckle a few times. Summary: solid breakfast place but not the best out there. I'd give it a try at least.

I came here with my boyfriend and my dad and thought we'd try out the place from all the reviews of the place. The ambiance was like a cattle call. The service was average. The food was not so great. It tasted like it was slapped together. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was too salty. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak and honestly, I felt like Denny's was better than this place and Denny's is not that great. My dad ordered the gourmet omelette and they put a pint of sour cream on top and hid it under sprouts. I don't get what people see in this place.

Service is horrible. We sit down but no one comes over to greet us, instead other people are greeted before. Asked for hollandaise sauce and never received it. Got a refill on a Coke, but when returned it was a different straw, so thought it might be an old/used by someone else, cup. Food was bland and gross. Worse omelet EVER!!! Instead of mixing the ingredients they just give you eggs on top of spinach and bacon.

This is my favorite restaurant. I can't stop thinking about the Snooty Fox. One of the most important features about the Snooty Fox is its ability to serve breakfast during all operating hours. A wide variety of appetites, cravings, fetishes, and infatuations can be accommodated by the Snooty Fox. Even finicky eaters should understand that the staff at the Snooty Fox is more than happy to customize an order to precise specifications. Prices on food items are very affordable, the meal quality is extremely edible, and the staff is focused on your dining pleasure experience. Whenever I dine at the restaurant called "The Snooty Fox" my intensely crippling hunger pains are absolutely satisfied for a minimum of 3 hours. The Snooty Fox appeals to an extensive demographic of people, from young virile adults full of potential, elderly adults with brittle skeletons, and young witless children. I firmly recommend the Snooty Fox.

My large roast beef sandwich was literally dripping with blood coming from the roast beef. I guess rare is an understatement, albeit it was okay. I had this on rye bread and nothing special. The portions are a plenty, but nothing too special about a typical deli sandwich. Maybe I should have opted for the breakfast items.

This is what is meant by a true "Greasy Spoon" place! The food and atmosphere here are great, and never change! I swear the same waitresses have been working here for 20 years, as long as I have been coming to "The Fox" as my family like to call it! When my kids were younger, every weekend was filled with begging to go to "The Fox"! I have always had the same ground beef and mushroom omelet! Love it! The staff always has been friendly and always passes by the table for refills or any other item you might need! Sometimes it can get crowded on the weekends, but the wait is never too long! If you want a true greasy spoon diner experience in south Orange County, head to "The Fox"!

Yes yes y'all. It's not always easy to satisfy a hungry pregnant woman having a late breakfast, but the Snooty Fox did. Hands down, not exaggerating, the BEST eggs Florentine I have ever had. Didn't I just order one (or something similar) from the Ritz on Mothers day? yes I did. was it as good? Honestly, no. The poached eggs were cooked to absolute perfection, even my second poached egg was perfect (not overcooked by the time I got to it). They pile on tons and tons of spinach, which wasn't overcooked and tasted very fresh to me, along with sauteed? onions. The onions were flavored... I'm not sure with what... but they were delicious and gave their eggs Florentine a very unique flavor. Of course, I added a side of bacon and added that to the mix, which probably upped the anti a little (or a lot - Bacon's one hellava breakfast meat). Even the "those potatoes" their version of hashed potatoes with green peppers and onion were good - and usually the potato side dish on a breakfast is pretty bland. Of course, I tried some of my husbands pancakes too - also great. I love this place! It's not snooty at all. Has a real down home country kitchen kind of feel complete with those old style brown coffee mugs. If you haven't tried the snooty fox for breakfast, you're missing out.

I come here fairly frequently, recently, to pick up food on Saturday mornings for my husband (while he's at work). I've had a few different things here but my favorite thing right now is the Snooty Fox breakfast. It's a sausage biscuit smothered in gravy. It comes with hash browns or "those potatoes." I get the hash browns and they are cooked to perfection. My husband likes "those potatoes." The service is always great and the girls are sweet. The food is filling and cheap.

This place was very good. Fiance and I are new to the area and went here for breakfast one morning. It was busy but not overly so. The server we had was nice but not super attentive. The price for breakfast was fair but I thought almost 9 dollars for two Orange juices was a little expensive. Would I go there again, sure, but next time I'll stick to water.

Another breakfast in the AM, wow, I think a gal can get used to eating like this :). So again I find myself in South OC and awake for breakfast during breakfast time :). to know me, not really one to get up early. We found ourselves looking for the Snooty Fox, BTW, the map is totally wrong! The map took us to a private community that was over a mile away from our destination. But not to worry, I had great company the drive was a nice distraction. Finally, the Snooty Fox! Inside reminds gives me a home feeling, very casual, and welcoming. OK, what to get? I was craving Eggs Benedict again, but also had the urge to try the biscuits and gravy. Luckily my breakfast companion has an appetite for food as well, so we got a side the side. Eggs Benedict - Delish! hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy, and they definitely were not skimpy. Whats not to love, poached eggs over an English Muffin and ham, covered in hollandaise! mmm... OK, I'm not a french connoisseur, so I can't compare, but I know what my taste buds like, I liked! I also ordered it with "those potatoes" which are potatoes with onions. Pretty good if I say so myself. Now on to the biscuits and Gravy - 4 for the side order... biscuits were nice and fluffy, even though they were covered in in gravy which had small pieces of sausage... Can you say COUNTRY COOKIN!! Service was awesome. Never once did I have an empty coffee mug. Our server was more than happy to go over the menu for us first timers... and every server kept checking in on us to make sure we were fine and dandy, and indeed we were! FYI, its not just breakfast, but they also have your usual lunch menu as well. Definitely a place to check out if in the area! the Snooty Fox ain't so snooty :)

I'm not sure what it was about today but as an afterthought, we ordered a single side of pancake. And it was the 2nd best pancake I'd ever eaten. I literally ate more than half in 30 seconds. HOOVERED it. No, I wasn't hungover and I'm certainly not pregnant. It was just that great! Hubby ordered the Snooty Fox plate (forget exact name) but it basically came with every breakfast pork product, 3 eggs, toast and hash browns. Hubby talked a great game on our way there ("I'm going to eat everything, I'm so hungry!!") but somehow couldn't bring himself to finish toast = FAIL! Pan over to me, I'd just abandoned the remaining 30% of the pancake to concentrate on my corned beef hash and side order of bacon. I forget that hubby had ordered the hash last time and it's not one of those fancy "real" corned beef hashed. But it does take me back to my childhood when we used that damned metal key to wind around the canned corn beef to open it up. Eggs, both hubby's and mine, were cooked perfectly. Service was attentive and friendly, definitely more so this time than previously. Coffee looked weak but turned out to be just right. Never got my diet Coke refill though. :(

I got the sausage and cheese omelet with hash browns. The omelet and hashbrowns were cooked perfectly. My meal came out to around 12 so Id say the price indicator on yelp needs one more dollar sign. Five stars anyway for the food

Our family has been going to this restaurant for 27 years. Home cooked foods, portions and the best french toast you could possible eat. Walk in and put your name on the list, indoors or outdoor eating, just cuddle up and get to know your neighbor. This is the best kept secret in Orange County and the greatest spot for breakfast hands down. We are on our third generation of kids going for breakfast. The breakfast and lunch menus are outstanding, the value for dollar is great, leftovers a huge possibility, and the staff is made up of great people, like Mike the owner, Gloria the waitress and so many others. This is family food at the family setting. Behind the Coco's restaurant. Don't miss this!

OK! You're up, Snooty Fox! For a hot second I thought I was back in NJ.... Sad, dilapidated interior, tons of old people and waitresses with hair do's that would inside a serious flash back to the 70's, I enter and put our name on the list. Luckily, through my initial hesitation, I happen to look at the food passing by me. Hmm... That looks yummy.... We get seated in the super jam packed dining room and order our food and coffees from our flashback waitress of the day. To say that the waitresses are a little pushy is an understatement. One of our companions wasn't ready to order quite yet but she kept pushing him to make up his mind and I seriously think she asked my friend if she wanted her coffee refilled at least 5 times in 1 minute. It was crazy! Well, luckily the food was good! I ordered the eggs benedict and other than the fact that my eggs weren't exactly runny (nor hard boiled for that matter), I've got no complains on a perfect hang-over breakfast. Nice potatoes with flecks of onion and pepper was a perfect companion to the benny that had a good amount of hollandaise sauce covering it. The ham also wasn't your traditional Canadian bacon but rather a very nice slice of breakfast ham. I think in the future, I would order the spinach benedict because the ham was a little too salty for my taste and I really like salt. The down side was simply the following: - No mimosas/bloody mary's - Cramped seating - Pushy waitresses Upsides: - If you can get past all the above, the food is decent and at a good price I'd come here again but maybe with my flask in my purse! ;)

VERY. LONG. WAIT. Worth it? If you are epically hungover and looking for a artery clogging extravaganza, then this is the place for you! If you're not hungover and just looking for a quiet breakfast or brunch without having to wait an hour? Not the place for you. I ordered the eggs benedict, and it was good. The eggs were a little overcooked for my tastes, but all in all, it was decent. A mixed crowd, lots of older folks. The decor is a bit dated, and it's more than loud in there. Also, they do not serve alcohol, and what is a hungover brunch without a bloody mary or mimosa? Not a hungover brunch at all.

Awkardly tucked away in the corner of a plaza behind a coco's, you find the Snooty fox. Its an older establishment, with lots of charm. Yummy biscuits and gravy. The gravy was peppery too, just the way I love things. I also got some simple scrambled eggs with the potatoes. They weren't able to customize my order, so I got something simple. The eggs were decent, how they should be. The potatoes were very bland, despite having veggies in it.It wasn't even salted or peppered. and kind of mushy. I hate mushy food. Then dessert was a cinnamon bun shared between everyone, which was very good. It came out piping hot too, just how it should be. Old charming decour, great wait staff, Cheap eat, decent eat. Snooty Fox, you rock!

Excellent food, friendly service, but very crowded when we were there and took awhile to get seated. Seating is very tight. Food was hot and plenty of it.

Ok this place is a diamond in the rough! We get our morning workout in and come straight here. I get the Garden omelette with avocado and "those potatoes" extra crispy. They put hollandaise on top and I swear this plate is sent from above. Every one that I have brought has loved their meal. The service is fabulous and they are really great about splitting checks if you have a big party. I love all the ladies that work here and the cooks are super nice - we always say thanks before we leave. Go here, you won't be disappointed! And if you are someone who complains because there is a line - you are an idiot. Good food is worth the wait.

I'm giving this 5 stars based on its genre. For comfort food it's a five star rating. Great service and great food. Very generous portions. I recommend the sandwiches. So good. Fries too.

We really like Snooty. We came here for a Sunday breakfast at about 09:30. It was a bit crowded, but we stayed because of the reviews here. The interior is a bit dated and overall a bit cramped. The food was great diner-type food. We had the chili-cheese omelet and the chicken fried steak and eggs, A nice healthy breakfast, It was all very good , and the server was great.

We have lived here for a couple of years, but haven't tried the Snooty Fox since moving in. My wife remembers going there when she worked in the area years ago. We were looking for something different and all the reviews seemed so positive we decided to give it a try. What a nice surprise to find the food so good and the portions more than we could finish. We both had the mushroom & bacon omelets which were delicious and filled with both items. The homefries, with peppers & onions were great. Can't wait to try some of their other menu choices as we will definetely be back!

I don't get what all the rave about this place is. Went here on the weekend for breakfast around lunchtime. Wait wasn't long which driving by in the past has been and prevented us trying it. Ordered our food ate it and it was just like any other breakfast place I could even say comparable to Denny's. A large orange juice is $4 which seems way over priced to me and I wouldn't have ordered it had I looked at the menu before adding it to my order. All in all the food was good but not great in my opinion and pricy. I could go to Coco's and get more food for less money and be satisfied. Oh and if you dont want the smell of fried food on your body and clothes and in your hair then here is another reason not to choose the Snooty fox cause I could smell it on me all day which I hate!!!

Been by this place several times over the weekend but due to the long lines we've always left without waiting. I then went for lunch on my own later on in the day on a weekday. I went inside and stood there like a fool. Since I'd never been there before I didn't know if we had to be seated or find a seat on our own. No one said anything although 2 servers walked right by me. Finally I asked someone how it was done and they said seat yourself -- 1 star off already. Not a good start. The menu was pretty big considering that the food is typically diner style. I ended up ordering a Reuben with coleslaw as the side. The sandwich arrived shortly on light rye and it was perfectly grilled. When I cut into the sandwich it released a huge waft of steam but there was an obvious crunch when I cut into the bread. The sandwich tasted good, but the sauerkraut was WAY too salty and WAY too sour. It overpowered the pastrami because there was twice as much sauerkraut as there was pastrami. I ended up taking out some of the kraut and finishing the sandwich. The accompanying coleslaw had a great crunch to it and it was fresh. All was well so far. While eating I noticed that the table was obviously not cleaned properly. My arms were sticking to the table. GROSS. There was ketchup residue stuck to the table but the table had previously been set prior to my sitting down. I used 2 napkins to clean off my arm AND the table before it was clean enough for me to continue eating -- another star off. So now they're at 3 stars. Service was okay, the server came and asked if everything was okay twice. That's pretty attentive to me. It cost $10 for the sandwich tip included. That wasn't bad either. I leave and after I get home that's when the "FUN" began. I suddenly felt nauseous and my head started to hurt. I don't usually get migraines but when I do actually get one it's one of those ball breaking ones and they're BAD. Within 10 minutes of coming home I felt like my head was going to explode and I wanted to throw up. I went to lie down and passed out for 3 hours. When I woke up I felt like someone had beaten me up. I'm guessing it was the sauerkraut. It wasn't home made sauerkraut that's for sure. It was probably something from a can which was why I had an adverse reaction to it. After that meal I wasn't able to eat for the rest of the day. I was done! Don't think I'm coming back again after that unpleasant experience.

I had the French toast with 2 eggs and bacon. There is an option in having deep fried or grilled, and I had one of each. Reading the reviews it mentioned often that the deep fried french toast was to die for, but I've had better. It was a bit soggy and crisp at the same time, greasy of course. The grilled french toast tasted a bit too much like egg, yes it contains it but I've had better. The eggs tasted a bit artificial and quite bland. They are also known for "those potatoes" which is basically hash brown with bell pepper and onion, but they were a bit burnt and the green pepper wasn't even fully cooked! The bacon was the only good part. I guess my review is so harsh just because I've had better. But it's an okay place if you want to eat somewhere quick and close, kudos to the service!

Great American breakfast at reasonable prices. I've only had breakfast there, but the lunch menu looks like pretty standard fare. Servers are friendly enough. They do the best they can with the space available when busy and trying to get you seated.

It's located in the old folks' neck of the woods. However, don't let that deter you from checking it out. It's pretty non-descript and lacking in any fanfare. We took our Grandma there (her choice) for lunch last week. I can recommend the Tuna Melt. Big monster of a sandwich that wifey and I split. We also shared the fried fish sandwich (?). All in all, I was pretty darned satisfied. She actually had to take hers home. It was near closing time (4pm), so it was not busy at all. I am SURE that this place gets packed @ lunch-time if all of the food is THIS good, so plan accordingly! Onion rings were pretty tasty too!!

My friends and I were in the area and looking for a place to eat hungover breakfast and with the power of smart phones stumbled upon this hidden gem. The place was packed, but the wait was reasonable for a table for 6 and there was a nice waiting area. They had a small patio which was dog friendly, so much to the extent that they provide your dog with food scraps upon request. We were seated in the crowded area but were greeted immediately with waters and coffee (witch was particularly delicious). Our food came at a moderate rate, but it was worth the wait. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it was delish. My friend used the restroom there and said, "It was so clean, I sat down". Which is interesting, since he is a He. Overall, I had a nice breakfast with my friends, where we were able to talk about inappropriate things without feeling inappropriate about it.

Stopped in on Easter about 9am with my wife and was pleasantly surprised no wait! I had eggs Benedict which was very tasty. Ham added a nice salt to the dish. I got the "those potatoes" which are the standard hash brown with peppers and onions. I got a side of gravy for the hash browns. Gravy was standard white gravy with pepper nothing to rave about. Overall good dish. Service was great. Step above Denny's and IHOP for sure.

Pretty good breakfast spot =) Came here this weekend and got the Eggs Florentine, and mmm it was so good! The hollandaise sauce was the best I've ever had! I had my friends try the sauce too, and they agreed that it was super tasty! I'm usually not a huge fan of hollandaise, but I am at the Snooty Fox! The plates here are also very generous. The only thing that I would have preferred, is for the hashbrowns to be cooked a little longer. It was very soft in the middle. It was still good, but I like my hashbrowns a bit crispier. Will be back!

The breakfast croissant with pastrami is incredible! The staff is nothing short of exemplary. Always kind and patient with everybody around. It may not be the Ritz Carlton but it's quality food with great service and quality people. Everything a fantastic breakfast restaurant should be.

I eat at Snooty Fox at least once a week for fifteen years. One of OC's real fines: very good breakfast resturant at a reasonable price. Best coffee in town. Southern style table setup in strip center. This is a whole in the wall place, it's a noisy resturant, don't go if you want to have a private conversation. Although you can eat outside. But, Snooty Fox has the best breakfast. I usually order steak and eggs with their homestyle potatoes. My son loves the deep fried french toast. The service is very southern homestyle. Get use to being called "honey." Very warm and sweet people. Don't go in demanding immediate service, you will just be disappointed. It's a laid back family style.

Want something greasy and capable of giving you 1,000 calories within a meal? Then come here to Snooty Fox and bring your pants with elastic. I am a little torn because while I love the kind of food they serve here - biscuits and gravy, country fried chicken steak, omelettes galore -- everything was just pretty average. Average food done averagely. My chicken fried steak could have been crisper, the beef omelette could have been more savory, and I could have..tried not to drench my "those potatoes" in ketchup. But dang, the potatoes were really bland to me. Overall, I like this place. Maybe I was a little let down by my chicken fried steak. So three stars it is!

Awesome breakfast... Eggs Benedict of course. Not your typical OC breakfast place, decent sized small town feel... not like a Denny's or IHOP. Everyone there is very nice and friendly. Their "Those Potatoes" are the home fries with veggies mixed in them so I didn't get to try it :( I wish they offered them plain. I did have hash browns with my breakfast and they were very good and not greasy which I always worry about. Coffee was good, nothing out of this world but very drinkable. The staff was so awesome and tended to the coffee like no others... More More More? :) I always want Eggs Benedict but after looking at some of the photos... I may try something new! Oh they have a patio area where you can bring your dogs :)

**Hidden Gem Alert** Hmmmm........I don't what the heck Hazel was doing in the south of OC but, I'm glad she was 'doin it here. I love this kind of breakfast place.....you know: Old, funky. (5 globe chandeliers are a MUST see) Simple hearty food. Some "special" yet simple creations. Good service with a touch of Diner-tude. Food served quick and HOT. We were told that everything is homemade. Although, I admit the salsa on my eggs and the chili on Tim's Burrito had us questioning that claim a bit. Maybe that's just because it's a very familiar look and taste of classic diner food? Which.......I do love. If you don't........you won't care for this place.

One of my mom's best friends called us last Saturday at 8am wanting to take us to breakfast. Sure, nice gesture...but it's 8am on Saturday...we're still in bed. She was persistent, and said she'd be at our house in 30 minutes and to deal with it. My mom and I roll out of our beds, wash our faces and get dressed. When my mom's friend drives up...we are still tired but ready to go. My moms friend wouldn't tell us where she's taking us, but when she pulls into the center, we think we're going to Coco's for breakfast (there's one close by in the same strip center)...but noooo, we pulled in front of The Snooty Fox. Neither my mom or I have heard of it or even have seen it before, but hey, it's worth a shot. We were seated right away...and were asked if wanted anything to drink. They got coffee, I got OJ. I ended up ordering 2 pancakes and some scrambled eggs with bacon. It was delicious! Better than I thought coming from a little hole in the wall place. To top it off, the waitress was so friendly and nice!! The atmosphere was great and not like your typical place to eat. I would totally go there again!!

Hole in the wall style diner that belongs on Diners, Drive Ins & Dives. I can safely say that the decor hasnt changed in at least 30 years, but it seems to always be busy with a solid stream of loyal clientele. I come here on Saturday (or Sunday mornings) when I need a cure to my painful hangovers that plague me from the previous evenings fun. Never been able to finish a full meal here, so you might even want to share. I loved the Snooty Fox breakfast, and the BLT safely contained an entire package of (crispy) bacon that made it delicious and hard to eat! Minus one star because I don't like those thick fries. If they're gonna be so big, they gotta be fried to a crunchy crisp to suit my taste. Recently spotted some diners ordering biscuits w gravy as a side dish... Note to self: MUST try that too. Come here hungry. Great value and cheap mimosas to boot.

I seldom give 5 stars, and this was lacking the "wow factor" but the food was very good. I have been going here since I was around 10-12 years old, and the smell and appearance of the place, is the same as when i was little kid. The food is good, somewhat simple. The gravy was tasty. I would suggest not getting the sausage, since its very typical of the frozen ones from the store that are microwaved, but other than that, its very good stuff.

Been going here for years.Love all the waitresses. They know my son who's now a teenager gets decaf coffee. My breakfast here is usally the 2 pancake combo with eggs and bacon. It's so hard to finish. My husband loves their omeletes. My son the steak and eggs. Lunch sandwiches are great. Good value here. Friendly and comfortable.

Today we returned to the Snooty Fox after a 2-year hiatus due to a prior poor service incident. All I can say is THANK GOD because I love the food here. Coincidentally, SF was profiled this morning on KTLA so we anticipated a line out the door, which is not uncommon. However, we got there at the perfect time. We were cheerfully greeted by GLORIA (ask for her if available). Gloria was awesome. We were seated quickly (and just before a big rush) but Gloria did not rush to get us in-and-out the door. Gloria took our orders, delivered them quickly and always had a full cup of Joe. This is comfort food and plenty of it. Hash browns with onion were served hot as were all the entrees. I especially liked the biscuits and gravy. Omelets were fluffy and fresh. One of our group ordered the strawberry pancakes with whipped cream. All she could say was: OMG, OMG, OMG. Snooty Fox has redeemed themselves, in our book.

I know my review will not have any affect the business because they have very loyal customers here. So I will write my mind. Nothing too impressive here. They do have pretty generous portions. Although the food here is just okay. I had the snooty fox breakfast, gravy was a little too flour-y for me. The egg cooked sunny side up was a little too undercooked, the corned beef hash I wish had more hash. the "those potatoes" were just only "those" nothing special at all just some bell peppers added to regular hash browns. I'd say nothing special in what I ordered, not way too impressed.

    (3)
  • Kathy C.

I ordered the pancake sandwich with bacon. The pancake sandwich is basically pancakes with an egg on top. The pancakes were decent, but my bacon was completely burnt. I don't understand why the kitchen or the waitress would think it's okay to serve bacon that's obviously charred.

I'm feelin' like a bit of a snoot towards Snooty Fox. While yes, my cup of diner quality coffee was never empty, and yes service was extremely fast, friendly and efficient and yes we only paid about 15 bucks for the two of us... my breakfast was Blandsville, USA. I got two Blands chicken hatched eggs--poached (world's worst vegan/vegetarian ladies and gentlemen), a mountain of Blands Original hashbrowns, and Blands favorite rye bread. Ketchup, jam and pepper were lifesavers, almost. Could have just been my meal choice, or that Snooty Fox is just not my cup of tea in general.

Four words: Deep fried French toast Its the best I've ever had, inexpensive, and one plate is filling for two. However I am only giving this place a mediocre review since the service here is a hit or miss. I eat here at least once a week and there's only 4 servers I've seen and have been served by all the time. ALL of them can be really sweet and nice, on a slow day. BUT on busy days they always seem to be very rude, have horrible attitudes, and you have to ask for help with everything. Every busy day ive eaten here:In addition to letting them know I was ready to order after having been sitting there in my party of 2 for 15 mins; I had to ask for napkins, water, ketchup, and refills. But you know what I didn't have to beg for and it still came Immediately? The bill.

Good, quick service. My garden omelette was Delicious, the portions were WAY too big for me to finish but I got a good taste of everything. The decor makes you feel like you stopped at grandmas house from the 50's especially the bathrooms. Definitely a yummy stop.

WOW, I'm stuffed! I'll start with my first experience at Snooty Fox. It was about 4 years ago when my friend treated me to it. "You have to try this breakfast place, Snooty Fox. Have you heard of it," he said. "No," I replied. "Oh man you're in for a treat." That was the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Today I ordered an omelete. It is called the Gourmet Omelete Special. It is a vegetarian omelete filled with tomato, mushroom, cheese, and avocado. Topped with more cheese, sour cream, and sprouts. It comes with "those potatoes" and your choice of bread (I got english muffins). "Those potatoes" are shredded hash-browns topped with a mixture of peppers and onion--yum! I also ordered a side of fresh peaches it was the perfect desert. The way the food was presented was mouth watering . I have a couple pictures of my meal half-eaten (It was to good to wait :p) As far as service goes the same ladies have been here since my very first time. They are experts and real kind people. You can sit anywhere you like, they wipe down your table and bring your drink. I am satisfied. I recommend you come and try it out yourself. It is one of those places where you take your significant other. "Hey baby I know of this great breakfast place. Let's go." Haha--I love this place.

Not amazing fare but it scratches the itch. I came here with a friend for brunch, and he got breakfast while I ordered just a simple salad. My chef salad came exactly as I ordered it, the waitress was attentive without hovering, and the food was good. Typical cafe style menu but surprisingly good food.

Great food! Awesome service! The place is dated but it gives that old school gramma's kitchen feel. We got the deep fried french toast, foxy scramble, eggs florentine and pancake meal and they were surprisingly ALL delish!!!!

The snooty fox is a very good breakfast joint. I never have a problem getting a seat and it's always the same friendly staff. The decor...um...it needs help. Lots of it. It's like a grandmother in 1975 decorated it and no one has updated it sense. Also some yellowing here and there but that's my only complaint. The breakfasts are super good. The Benedict and florentine are my favorites, their hollandaise sauce is scrumptious. Make sure to get "those potatoes" they are hash browns with onions and green bell peppers mixed in. Also the prices are reasonable and they give you more food then you can really ever hope to finish in one sitting.

The Snooty Fox reminds me of my first car: a '74 Toyota Corolla SR5. It wasn't much to look at, but it got the job done. Despite the somewhat crappy location -- jammed in the corner of some strip mall -- this place serves some great breakfasts. I've only been here four or five times, but I've had something different each time and it has always been really good. Great omelets, killer pancakes, and excellent biscuits and gravy. And don't forget those potatoes, which really should be called spuds of awesome awesomeness. I've never seen this place NOT crowded -- but I've never gone on a weekday, either. So I think it's a safe bet that if you come here on a Tuesday morning, you're pretty much going to get a seat right away. The service is pretty good, too.

Interesting Family Owned Breakfast Spot Freeway Close for Locals I migrated to this place with the expectation that this was going to be a great, incredible breakfast experience. Perhaps I was expecting more, but this was only above average. Pros: Great fast service, good, decent, home made food with some interesting dishes particular to the Snooty Fox. Portions were adequate. The Snooty Fox Breakfast is an Egg McMuffin with Sausgage and Gravy over a real bisquit. Cons: Not open until 7am; Hashbrowns appeared frozen. Food was tasted alright, but really was nothing special. Coffee was bottomless but watered down. Ambiance and Decor were awful. Bottom Line: I actually liked Co-Co's, which is 100 yards away, better. Fresher food, better ambiance, and better tasting.

This place definitely is a heart attack waiting to happen. Super high fat and high calorie but yummy. If you want typical diner food this is the place. Nothing fancy just filling. Whenever I am in the area and don't know where else to go I end up here.

This is a regular place for my family and today wS horrible. Hash browns were dripping with oil and steak that was ordered medium was raw. We waited for extra styrup and steak sauce-finally had to go get ourselves. Will not return again

Was on a weekend trip to LA/Orange County from the Bay Area, and suggested to a friend that we get together for breakfast on Saturday morning. He suggested Mimi's, I suggested no chains (where all the food comes from Sysco, no matter what the restaurant, and it's all the same wherever you go). I YELPed and found The Snooty Fox. The rating and the past reviews convinced me this could be a winner, and we agreed to meet at 9:30. Lesson 1: get to the Snooty Fox before 9:00, or plan to wait. The wait wasn't too long, not a big deal, but you should plan accordingly. It's a small place, typical 70's era diner decor, trashy chic, but seemed clean. Lots of happy people eating away. 3 of us had the Corned Beef Hash platter, which includes eggs, toast, and potatoes. Definitely, order "those potatoes". Everything tasted great, service was decent, prices reasonable (though I must admit I got treated to bkfst and didn't wind up having to pay - always a good way to start the day).

I really like this place. If you are looking for some high end quiet romantic place, well, this isn't it. If you want a delicious breakfast you can make, but would rather not. This is it. Still craving the florentine Benedict. Go for it! Be nice and ask for what you want and they will make it for you. Terrific menu.

Came here with a friend in the late afternoon and we were literally the only ones in the restaurant. The service was great the food was great, it has a very small town/ diner feel with a friendly staff. It's GREAT!

We've eaten here at least 2 dozen times. This review is long overdue! We always go for "breakfast" but we're a bit sluggish and sometimes its noonish and I order lunch. We have never once been disappointed, by the service or the food. Our order has never once been incorrect or not hot enough. I've also made some pretty outlandish not-on-the-menu creations and it comes out perfect. They have a low turnover in staff and the same people are always working, which makes it feel home-y. Best and most affordable eggs benedict around! Come here and get whatever sounds good, because everything is good! If you're a party of 2, you will probably be seated quickly. If you come with 4 or more, expect to wait for a table. This tiny place is always packed. if you have 6 or more you really should call first. The decor could use a make over but that doesn't matter much to me, I'd rather they keep their wallpaper ugly and their prices low!

Yum! My co worker took me here for breakfast and it was absolutely delicious! I had the biscuits and gravy with eggs! The servers were polite and the service was excellent. It is a Cute little restaurant!

This place is like a second home to me, they have AMAZING food.. Service is always SPECTACULAR.. and you really just get a good home feel vibe when there. Sunday Mornings are crazy hectic.. but they are worth the wait! Just thinking of their biscuits and gravy makes my mouth water

This place was a definite disappointment. Food: Not terrible, but somewhat overpriced for just homestyle food that I feel like I could get at Denny's. The deep fried french toast is a great idea, but wasn't as good as I hoped and the rest of the meal was just blah, not bad, but nothing earth-shattering. Service: This is where the majority of the 1 star comes from. The waitress was fine, but a little slow and never refilled our drinks once. Just got our order, dropped off our food, and that was it. We asked for salsa and ketchup and never got either brought to our table. Then, on our bill we magically got charged 75 cents for salsa that we never got and she never told us that we would be charged for anyway! I asked her to take it off the bill since she never gave it to us. She took it up to the cashier, got it changed and brought it back. Then, you have to take your own check up to the cashier at a sit down restaurant, weird. But anyway, when we paid, we heard the cashier complain to her waitress friend right in front of us, that somebody actually sent their check back to take off 75 cents and implied they were cheap. Don't think she realized it was us, but either way, that definitely was unprofessional to talk in front of customers. Ambience: Old people and their stuff. The place looks like grandma's house inside, which is cute enough, but not my style. Leisure world is just around the corner too so I could literally be the grandkid of anybody in the restaurant! Not that it's a bad thing, but I think it speaks to the food because it's simple and homestyle. If that's your thing, then go for it, but I was not impressed. Overall: Definitely not going back with that service. Left a bad tip to leave an impression so hopefully they realize something is off there cause I'm usually a great tipper. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend it. Just go to Denny's and you'll get the same food for cheaper with better service.

mmmmmmm GIANT BREAKFASTS. I work a couple blocks away, so when people come to the office and want a lot of food, Snooty it is! It's your basic continental type breakfast, nothing fancy. Eggs, hash browns, toast, you get the picture. I come to this place because its a great value. I see people starting to pay more and more for food that should be cheap, this place holds its price so everyone can afford it. This place has helped kill countless hangovers of mine, and I'm sure it will continue to do so!

If you live in Lake Forest you know there isn't a lot of options for breakfast, and definitely not any excellent options... EXCEPT the Snooty Fox! I love this place! There corned beef hash (even though it looks like cat food) is exceptional. The biscuits and gravy is rich and fatteningly awesome. They even give you an option to have your french toast DEEP FRIED... now that's breakfast! For healthier options they offer tons of Omelets, I saw one today go by with sprouts on top and mounds of mushrooms =) But when it comes to the Snooty Fox I opt to get my caloric intake of the day and really enjoy myself. Prices range from $5-$10 and portions are large. It's like a roadside dinner, comfort food served to you by the plate full but off Lake Forest Drive. Why not 5 stars you ask? Well, it could use a good cleaning... but the best places usually look a bit rough so it's expected. PS- PET FRIENDLY PATIO!

I have been going to the Snooty Fox for the last 15 years with my family. It's a very friendly place. The waitresses do their best to serve their customers. The portions of food are big. If you are watching your weight, you definitely need to take a some food home in a box. They are accommodating for requests. Adding fries for an additional $1 is worth it in my opinion. I usually ask for them well done. A cool thing is that you can ask for half & half of onion rings and french fries. Oh my gosh, that is a really good for an additional $1. My favorite thing to order that is not on the menu is a Beef Melt on grilled sourdough. It comes with beef, cheese, avocado, mayo, lettuce, and tomato. I will usually order this 95% of the time. The breakfast here is great. My family always gets Spinach Florentine and Eggs Benedict. Don't be freaked out by the amount of old people who eat here, it's on the border of Seizure World and Lake Forest.

The food here is great! My mother loves the fried french toast! So far I have enjoyed everything I have tried. After reading a few of the "bad" reviews I just laughed. Who cares if the place has the latest and greatest decor. This place has character. Is it a little cramped inside? Yes, but only because the food is so great that they have to pack in everyone they can! Is every waitress perfect? No, find a restaurant where every waitress can please every single customer every day all day long. Impossible. I love it here and the other great plus for our family is...they have a pet friendly patio!!! And they even offer free scraps if you allow your dog to eat table scraps. Which we don't but I think it is a nice gesture. We will continue to come here for a long time to come. Thank you Snooty Fox for all you do. Keep up the great food!

My wife and I have taken my aunt there twice for breakfast in the past several years, most recently early this month. Lots of selections on the menu, and prices are OK. Service was good. My meals have been tasty, and my wife and aunt enjoyed their meals.

Absolute Fan. Portion are huge... bang for your buck. I don't like Tuna but Snooty can prepare tuna so won't have that fishy taste in your mouth. Their quiche is absolutely amazing. Most of their food, as least for me is more than enough... enough for lunch the next day. It's located close to 3D sign company and behind Shell gas station. I must say their breakfast is the best. The inside decor is like the 70's. i never had a chance to ask if that's the theme or it's just outdated... Price is reasonable for the portions... there's no portion control here I tell ya. I believe they close at 3 on weekdays! That's a bummer.

Great little hole in the wall. I would have given them 4 stars had they still served waffles. We came here for breakfast. They have great omelets and pancakes. Order the homestyle potatoes. Service was good. Felt like I was in a small town diner. And Scotty swears they have the best OJ.

I do not live near this restaurant which is a good thing. If I did, I'd weigh 300 pounds because their food is amazing. I eat here for breakfast every time I visit friends and family in Orange County. Chicken Fried steak & eggs, the Spinach & Tomato Omelette, Deep Fried French Toast (you can also order it grilled); all favorites. Great service, coffee, hash browns, bacon, sausage, all obviously high quality with generous servings. Atmosphere is warm and inviting, filled with locals supporting their favorite independently owned place & food offered at a great value. Such a nice change from the chains seen in every city across CA. Try it for breakfast or lunch, you will not be disappointed.

Trying out new places in areas you do not usually go to is awesome, but trying out local spots, especially for brunch, is a must. Yes, I love brunch! If you can serve me a really delicious eggs benedict (other variations are more than welcome), then, my friend, well you'll have yourself a fan. Needless to say I got the eggs benedict with turkey instead of Canadian bacon. Everything just how I expected it to be and MORE. The eggs were perfectly pouched and the sauce super rich and creamy. I think the best part was the combination of this traditional plate with the turkey in place of the Canadian bacon. Oh mama. This cut of turkey was just so tender, soooo tender. It was a perfect substitute and it was unfortunate that I'm not a big eater, because I wanted to eat both muffin contraptions. Boooooo. It went to good homes though, the bellies of my boyfriend and our friend. You're welcome boys :). The boyfriend had the N.Y. steak, he seemed to enjoy it. Our friend got the chicken fried steak, which I snagged a little piece, and whew that gravy, freaking delish! The service was fast and friendly, but I could see how the lines can get long. However, the hostess we had did her best to seat us promptly. The only grip I really had was the Bloody Mary. It wasn't up to my expectations of how I want it to taste. After adding more tabasco and pepper it was better. Truly, honestly, the key to a great Bloody Mary (besides getting all the fixings correct) is using celery salt. It just spices it nicely to the point where you're thinking, oh my where have you been all my life. I do like the Snooty Fox though, and I would definitely recommend anyone to try this place at least one time. Give it a go and hopefully you have an experience just as good, if not better.

Biscuits and gravy are all I really need for happiness in this world. Well, biscuits and gravy, winning the lotto, and a magical body that always stays thin. But, we'll stick with the attainable: biscuits & gravy. And they do it right here. Sure, I ain't from the south. My meemaw never woke up at the crack of dawn to collect the eggs from the henhouse and spent all morning whippin' up some biscuits. But, Grandma Hazel did a-ok with her bicuits n' gravy, and these are right up there with them. So, here's what you've got if the layers of the food were text: -Gravy -Biscuit -Egg -Sausage -Biscuit -Gravy When I heard the description I thought, "Oh, a schmancy egg mcmuffin, eh?" I'm such an ass. Not at all an egg mcmuffin. In short, it's all the happiness in the world on a plate, smothered in gravy. And that's a helluva lot of happiness for only $6.

This place is a hidden gem. Somehow stumbled along this place while driving around looking for a good place to have breakfast and very glad i came here! I love comfort food, and this is my favorite place to go for breakfast/brunch. They definitely know how to do breakfast. When you walk in you can tell that this place has been around for DECADES. Their food is so dank I can see why! My favorite things to get here are the eggs benedict, and the snooty fox breakfast.

This is a solid place. The prices are very hard to beat, the service is swift, and the food is plentiful. I was convinced to go here after reading some fellow Yelper's, and I feel like I was steered well. The Eggs Benedict was served with tons of hash browns. The Snooty Fox breakfast features a biscuit with gravy. Very awesome. What would make it more perfect? Excellent coffee. But it really isn't that kind of a place...

4.5 stars! Thanks yelpers. I went here Saturday, July 31st around 10am. Parking is easy and we got seated right away. I ordered the eggs benedict. (I was going to be difficult and try to combine regular eggs benedict with eggs florentine but...I didn't). I got "those potatoes" (hash browns with diced bell peppers and onions) extra crispy. My breakfast was REALLLLYYYY GOOOOOD! They used a flatter but crunchier version of an english muffin. They were definitely not skimpy on the ham (super thick), and the poached egg and sauce were perfect! They did a great job making my potatoes crunchy and there was just the right amount of sweet grilled onion and bell pepper bits. My man just got a side of biscuits and gravy. We are b&g enthusiasts and we thought they were just "OK". BTW it did take a while to get our food but we didn't mind....and when we walked out the door there was a line of about 5 parties waiting to get in. So we got lucky!

Thank GOD for The Snooty Fox... seriously. If it weren't for you, I just don't know what I would have done. I was in the serious mood for some regular food without pretension. Don't get me wrong, I certainly love me some high class hi priced grub... but no more than anything else, and my biscuits and gravy were to 100%. Hit the spot for sure. The only problem I had was that I was riddled with guilt for having such a good meal without my girl Sarah. There's not much worse than not having your foodie sidekick with you when you're experiencing a great meal. All the sandwiches and meals that came out to hour table looked incredible, and the portions were not just ample, but HUGE! The next time I come here I want to make sure I come with friends so I can nibble off all the plates. The Snooty Fox is the kind of place where I want to order ALL the menu at once. It was a miracle I could order with the quickness. Tip: don't despair when there's a wait... 'cause goodness is only a few minutes away!

For breakfast/brunch: Break of Dawn is way better than Snooty Fox. Not to say that this place is bad or anything, it isn't. However, it's not as good as other places. I ordered the 2 pancake sandwich with eggs and sausage. I got really excited coz I've never had a pancake sandwich. Turns out it's just a plate of pancakes with a side or eggs (which was a super stingy serving) and sausage. What's so "sandwich" about that?!!!! I thought it would be sandwiched in between the pancakes. So misleading! Our waitress kept giving us 2 of everything when we were 3 people at the table. Is one of us invisible or something?! Come on we're not exactly skinny people here. I'm sure she wouldn't have missed us. Anyways, the food didn't taste bad but it wasn't great either. The presentation was whatevers. Maybe it was just what I ordered? My friends got the French Toast and another had the Tequila Plate(?) and theirs looked way yummier than mine.

I get a call at 8 AM this morning...or so I am told after being woken up by my girlfriend. "Bill's (her stepfather) clutch went out on his Z here in town and is stranded. He needs a ride back down to Irvine." Splash some water on my face (was up the night before playing online poker til 1 AM...) and jump in my 73 Nova and off we were to Irvine. After picking up Bill, he offers to take us out to breakfast at this place. Arriving to an overflowing establishment of patrons anxiously waiting to be seated, we put our name in and wait patiently for about 10 minuets until we are promptly escorted to our table. You can tell this is a "locals favorite" kind of place. A lot of people talking to each other at different tables..."so how are the kids..." kind of talk. After perusing the extensive breakfast menu we ordered our food and within maybe 15 minutes, we were getting our food. It's good quality grub for a decent price. I got the sauteed mushroom and cheese omelet that was very good and filling. Both Nat and Bill seemed to enjoy their meals as well. The service here is on point and friendly to boot. While it seems like the crowds on a weekend would leave you waiting for 20-30 minutes easy for a table, they seem to work hard at getting you in and out (not pushy though, just efficient). Well worth checking out if you are in Southern Orange County and looking for some local hole-in-the-wall greezy spoon breakfast food.

Wow... I can't believe this place has been here for years and I never knew about it. It definitely throws you back in time a bit, but gives you that warm feeling, like visiting your Grandma Helga for dinner. Had the Eggs Benedict... highly recommended. The Hollandaise sauce wasn't overly lemony, the eggs were poached correctly, and the hash browns were nicely done.. The service was quick and friendly, however coffee was terrible.

This place is solid. It's not the best breakfast I have ever had but it is far from the worst. Their pancakes are decent. Their omelets are big and fluffy and full of which ever ingredient you order. Like many people I think "Those Potatoes" are very good. Not the best hash browns but they definitely work. I think the best way to sum up The Snooty Fox is it is the kind of place I'll go when I am not sure what I want for breakfast and I don't want to drive to the great breakfast spots in Orange County. Proximity is the number one factor that keeps me coming back but the lack of a WOW factor only allows me to give three stars.

I just got home from the Snooty Fox, I order food to bring home. THis place charged me over 8 dollars for a french toast meal, I can't eat pork, you would think they would discount it, no they wouldn't even offer a different meat and I was charged full price. THe two scrambled eggs that came with the meal, no I got one egg and it was under cooked and slimy. My in laws wanted corned beef hash and eggs, we recieved 3 tablespoons of corned beef hash and a mountain of burned hash browns. ANd this food came up to 27.00 dollars. THis was the worst food I have ever had. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It was over priced and the food was not good at all.

This place is just OK; I was surprised to see such good reviews. I've been here 3-4 times because my mom likes it. I ordered a spinach and mushroom omelet. The spinach was a ton, way too much, of thawed, previously frozen spinach, and little to no mushrooms. The waitress wasn't mean, just not attentive; we had to ask repeatedly for every little thing. But for my mom, I wouldn't go again.

I've only had breakfast here, and it's pretty good. Despite the cheesy decor, it's definitely a better breakfast spot than the Coco's nearby. Just a little more like home cookin' than Coco's. Service is friendly and fast enough. And the best part is that it's pretty reasonable too.

One of my favorite local places to eat. Its close to my business, they ahve a wide selection of food choices and all are great formt he breakfast items to the lunch menu. I cant think of a better coffee shop / diner with better food. Crowded on the weekends which is the true sign of a great eatery. Try it...you wont be disappointed, and the prices are not to be beat.

This place reminded me of some of my favorite breakfast places back in New Hampshire. You get a lot of food. My husband and I were STUNNED at the size of the ham steak which came with his breakfast special. The servers are real waitresses. They could be old enough to be your mom or favorite aunt. They are "real" and friendly. The restaurant ambiance isn't fabulous. It looks like a country diner. It is a country diner. Go there for the homemade food & you'll be happy.

Allow me to tell you a tale of the most amazing salad ever created. It was called the Western Bacon Barbecue Chicken Salad. It featured healthy helpings of bacon, chicken, and cheese. The only vegetable present was a barely perceptible layer of iceberg lettuce at the bottom and a few thin slices of tomato. The tomato slices were arranged on the side of the plate, suggesting that they were more of a garnish. As if to say, "We won't look down on you for not eating these." The salad dressing: barbecue sauce. Not like a tangy vinaigrette, we're talking KC Masterpiece squeezed fresh out of the bottle. It was slathered in the stuff. And the real kicker: in lieu of croutons, it was topped with onion rings. ONION RINGS! On a salad!! Only the Snoot would have the balls to attempt a salad like this. My pal finished the thing off and immediately suffered an aneurysm. There's only one thing to say when you see a salad like that: God Bless America.

After reading through the other reviews my friend and I decided on having Sunday brunch here. I didn't think that the food was worth the wait. Definitely not impressed. Ordered the french toast with bacon & eggs on the side, while one friend ordered the pancake sandwich, and the other the Tequila omelet. Overall the food was ok and the service was spotty. We had to ask four different waitresses/wait staff members before getting an extra straw, table setting, menu, etc. Not going back if I can help it, I'd rather head over to Break of Dawn or The Original Pancake House next time!

I look forward to the small town diner atmosphere that I get every time I eat here! Breakfast is the best meals they serve! The food is so good, portions are big! Small town diner in a big city. It was very refreshing to not have to eat at a chain restaurant, yet still trust that my food was made with care and not worry about what I was actually eating.

I heard about this place a while ago, but I've never tried. Today was my first time. I am glad I did. I was there for breakfast. I think this is the best spot for breakfast in south OC. I was surprised to know that this restaurant has been there since 1979. It means something it has been around this long. My experience today with the wonderful food and service explains it all. I will go back there for sure.

Took my younger cousins here for brunch on a Monday. The decor is very old fashioned. This is definitely your typical, "hole-in-the-wall", mom and pop place. We got the French toast with strawberries and whipped cream along with ham, eggs, hashbrowns and wheat toast. Everything was super delicious! the French toast was amazing! fluffy and flavorful :) they have these potatoes called, "those potatoes" and you can either choose to get those or hash browns, I believe they consist of potatoes and veggies. I will have to try those next time around! Service is ok. stop by if you're in the area.

This is not Denny's. It is not Mimi's. It is one of the few true coffee shop style diners I know of in South OC. I'm not looking for Moons over My Hammy or some other over commercialized entrees here. I'm looking for a straight up american breakfast with eggs and an assortment of unrepentant breakfast meats and gravy. The Fox delivers. Yes it gets busy. Yes I've had to wait to be seated. Maybe my drink wasn't refilled the moment I set it down. Maybe I didn't care because I'm easy like Sunday morning and the staff is doing all the can in a small crowded place to keep it real. Bottom line, if you like down home cookin' in a non-cookie cutter environment -- you're golden at the Snooty Fox.

Finally a great diner! Eggs Florentine (poached eggs with hollandaise sauce with sauteed spinach and sliced tomato) was good, eggs poached just right. Great hash browns although I will request them to be extra crisp next time. About $11-12 with coffee. Sausage was good! French toast was good, tasted more like a doughnut. Great coffee. Fast service, lots of food, sweet waitress. Would love to go back for lunch and try their tuna melt.

Maybe 'snooty' refers to the bad service you get here. I tried this place for breakfast recently. The service here is disorganized and poor. The food is ok--huge pancakes and lots of hash browns--but really nothing special. But we waited forever to be seated, to get menus, to order, to get our food, to get our check, and to get our paid check back. I'm not going to put up with that for diner food and neither should you.

Just took the wife and little one there this morning (Sunday). Definitely a busy breakfast location, but they do their best at accomodating large groups and trying to get you in and out. My wife was in the mood for eggs benedict, so we thought we would give it a try based on the Yelp reviews. The result: she ranked it as one of the worst eggs benedict she's ever had - the hollandaise was more of a gravy rather than a sauce. I got the ground meat, mushroom, etc...omlette. It was okay, but I ended up using ketchup due to the lack of flavor. All and all, I think it is more of a local place for the meat and potatoes crowd. If you like french-styled hollandaise, don't bother with the eggs benedict. If you hate French food all together, you'll probably like the eggs benedict. As for service, our waitress was not in the best of moods. She definitely seemed pissed and put out that we were there - could have caught her on a bad day. We live in Laguna Hills and this is somewhat close by, but we'll be sticking to our other spots (Break of Dawn, Orig. Pancake House, and Mollies Country Kitchen).

One of the best breakfast places in Orange County...you know how I know? Old people eat there! Two things senior citizens look for in a restaurant good food for a cheap as they can get it - and this is one of those places! Enjoy this little hole in the wall...just bring your patience lines can get long and the seniors can get irritating.

I was trying to find a new place to grab some breakfast this morning and once again looked to Yelp for some assistance. The Snooty Fox was close and got some good reviews, so we gave it a shot. The space is kind of small, but people definitely know where it is (it's kind of hidden). There was a line out front, but it moved quick. The inside looks like a circa 1980's attempt at making the space look like you are at home. The menu is pretty big, with items for breakfast and lunch at the ready to quell your hunger. The portions are between average to large, depending on what you get. The standard eggs with a breakfast meat, hash browns, and toast, isn't anything to write home about, but the omlets are another story...huge. The service was pretty average. The wife's iced tea got filled when it got low, but I sat there with a cup of ice wanting for more water for an awful long time today. If I ever make it back, I am trying the biscuits and gravy. I just wasn't in the mood for something like that today... One thing that I'm not sure of is why they make a big deal about "those potatoes". In most breakfast joints when you see something like this it is cubed potatoes with all kinds of seasonings, onions, and maybe some peppers. Here it is hash browns mixed with green peppers. The menu says onions are in there too, but if they are they were chopped ultra fine because I couldn't see them...or taste them. All in all my meal today put this place in the middle ground. The food was good. The service was ok. Nothing was really that great about it, but it looked to be a place to get the same experience about every time you go. I'd have to agree with an earlier review that I am puzzled on how this place got so many 5 star reviews. There are better breakfasts to be had out there.

A morning after an all nighter, my friends and I came here for breakfast. Surprisingly, I enjoy their food. I thought the place would be just a hole in the wall version of IHOP or Denny's. But I must say I liked the food here better. The cups that the OJ came in felt a little grudging and soiled. The service was without doubt not very good, but I think it's the place's trademark. Even though the food is better, but I think I will still stick with IHOP for the other reasons.

We live just over the freeway from the cafe and have looked for a real great breakfast place for a long time. Seems like when we wanted to go out for a real good breakfast we were stuck with Denny's (eh). But one day I was driving by this shopping center and their sign caught my eye; the next morning we were there (after checking the Yelp reviews of course). After a few visits now here is my review... Food: Is great...and the portions are huge! We've tried the chicken fried steak, strip steak, eggs benedict and biscuits and gravy. All that comes with those plates (eggs, hashbrowns, etc.) have been great as well. You also get a choice of bread with some of the meals and I always go for the biscuits. You get two and they are incredible! I have not tried any of the lunch fixin's yet. Service: Has always been great. Very nice waitresses, and the food comes out promptly. Restaurant Space: Yes, it's decorated like a grandma's country kitchen, but whatever-I'm not in there to stare at flare on the wall. The space is fairly small, especially when facing weekend crowds. We've always gone around noon on Sundays, and while we haven't had to wait more than 5 minutes to be seated, I think we have gotten lucky because it is always packed. I think it would be difficult to go with a large group, because they don't have many large tables. There is also a few tables out on a patio at the front door. All around a great local place.

This is not the kind of place you should expect much of. The service is fast and semi-friendly. Even at busy times, you can usually find a table. The food hits the price point though. It's not horrible, but generally bland, a bit greasy, and just a couple notches up from IHOP or Denny's in quality of food.

Yummy breakfasts served all day. Their egg croissants with bacon are so packed full of delicious bacon, easily could have shared and still been satisfied. My husband had the pancakes. They were ok but didn't quite make the top tier of pancakes for me. It has a diner feel which kind of gives me a "greasy spoon" feeling but they do a quick and delightful menu. Recommended

Friendly, fresh, and fast. Imagine your food arriving hot! Yes it happens at this family-oriented diner-like spot. We have eaten breakfast two days in a row. Wait staff check in regularly for coffee etc yet aren't obtrusive. Portions are very generous (small appetites on fixed incomes could split and still be well fulfilled) and choices are abundant. We'll be back!

I have eaten here every weekend for seven years. I have never ordered something I didn't like. The food comes quick, generous portions, fair prices. Keep up the good work, thanks!

Different strokes for different folks. I prefer a hip-er healthier breakfast. This was old school like something you would come across in an old town. It is obvious that many like it but it is not for me. I am not a health food nut but prefer a more healthier California breakfast.

Decent breakfast, I had the bacon and eggs ,they give you a lot of hash browns. The waitress was super attentive. I will definitely eat here again. The prices are also very reasonable.

This place is above average, I love the Tequila Sunrise Scramble. Some friends and I generally come here on Saturday mornings with some friends, after Cars & Coffee. The Service is great, a party of 4 is seated quickly.

You want meat & potatoes? Check! This place is pretty good for breakfast & the service is pretty good. It's an older Leisure World & trucker type spot but the food is much better than anything from iHop or Denny's.

This place is good, for what it is. If you enjoy the sole proprietorship, greasy spoon diner type of place - well you've found it! For lunch it was crowded but not too crowded. A very interesting mix of seniors, families, blue-collar and white-collar types. Quick and easy service in a comfy setting with a good variety of diner food fare. I had the grilled cheese and tomato sandwich and it was exactly what I expected. Cheezy griddle goodness!

I feel like such a terrible local for not liking this place, but I've been 3 or 4 times now, and I'm just not impressed. It is clearly a "locals only" kind of place, but by locals, I mean the local retirement homes. The food is greasy and not that great. the portions are large, and endless coffee is nice, but it's about as appetizing as IHOP.

This place has been here since 1998, I overheard the waitress say. (I recall this building being one of the first Vietnamese restaurants in OC in the 1980's.) Now it is the polar opposite of a Vietnamese restaurant. It's an American Diner. There is nothing "snooty" about this place. It is down-home, Bible-belt, all-American, artery-clogging food! (Which is a guilty pleasure of mine.) From time-to-time you need to raise your cholesterol levels up a notch and this is the place that will do it. No askerisks on the menu to tell you what is spicy or what is recommended by the American Heart Association. Everything here, even the salads are loaded with fat, calories, and bad cholesterol. That being said, if you love stopping at those road-side diners and cafes along Route 66 between Carlsbad Caverns and the Grand Canyon, you'll love the Snooty Fox. I had the Angus Patty Melt Special for $8.99. It comes with either cole slaw, potato salad or macaroni salad. I had the cole slaw and it was fresh, refreshing, and had enough mayonaise in it to shorten my life by a week. The patty melt was around 8 ounces of Angus beef patty, drenched in fat, cheddar cheese, and red onion ringlets. It was not salty, or tasty but was a lot of MEAT and CHEESE. (It needed catsup.) The bread is traditionally grilled in butter, and I don't think you'll find one stick of magarine in the joint. The clientele are Highway Patrol men, firemen, construction workers, service station men, short-sleeve businessmen, and some of the retirees from nearby Laguna Woods. This is NOT health food. It is the opposite of healthy eating. I think I'll eat Vegan for the next week and get a high colonic after this experience. The only reason why I didn't give it 4-stars is I can't afford to be a fan, as I want to live long and prosper. LOL Oh, this place closes at 3:00 PM so it's just breakfast, brunch, and lunch.

Nice little place where dogs are welcome on the patio. The deep fried french toast is out of this world ! It kind of tasted like funnel cake, or something really good. They have sugar free syrup. I usually try to eat lightly but could not stop myself, I ate the whole thing. The sausage patties were tasty, cooked thoroughly and not too thick. Scrambled eggs were excellent. Hash browns a little undercooked for my taste, but no restaurant ever gets this right. Tables are a little close together like Old Pancake House. I was very impressed and will be returning.

Read the reviews and we live in Laguna Hills, so we gave the Snooty Fox a try for a late breakfast (around 10:45 on a Saturday). We got lucky and just missed the breakfast crowd and got in before the early lunch groups. This place is smallish and make sure you feel like sitting close to your neighbor - the tables are tightly packed and there are no booths. On the plus side this little restaurant has a nostalgic, middle America feel, on the minus side the food is very ordinary. I ordered the deep fried french toast combo with 2 eggs and sausage ($7.75). Not that amazing and I have to be honest, there was kind of a funky taste to the french toast that I attributed to stale or old oil they were fried in. I have to agree with an earlier reviewer who suggested the Original Pancake House as an alternative.

  • Mashed P.

I don't understand the high rating for this place, I found it to be sub par. I ordered the eggs florentine and it was sloppy, soggy and kinda gross, way over cooked diced spinach and way too much of it. People say huge portions but that really just means lots of potatoes. I ordered 'those potatoes' and they too were disappointing with almost no peppers and onions in them I wish I would have ordered hash browns. Price was better than most places and who knows maybe other things are good here but I left disappointed.

Plentiful portions, very reasonably priced, friendly service. If you're hungry, and want a lot of bang for your buck, you can't go wrong. Ordered the Eggs Benedict, serviceable hollandaise, perfect eggs and nice browned hash browns. Great coffee (Farmers Bros.). Other dishes were the pancakes and Tequila Sunrise. Both were good.

Literally, this place is the definition of small town diner. I LOVE IT. The food is AWESOME and the service is GREAT! we love the owner and it is always a treat to see him whenever we go in for lunch. Hec, I could be full on Thanksgiving day and the mention of breakfast at Snooty would make my mouth water...I hope I can bring my kids to Snooty one day and tell them about how my dad took me here and we sat in the same seat in the same corner and was never disappointed by our good friends at Snooty! The food is delivered quick to your table-never a wrong order, cups always full, smiles all around and not to mention-super cheap! (which is why we could afford to eat there almost everyday)! You will not be let down by Snooty (unless you are snobby)! lol

I was eating at Break of Dawn one morning and the couple next to us asked if we had been to Snooty Fox, because that was another great breakfast place in OC. So of course we had high expectation...and after reading some reviews on here, they were even higher. One word. Disappointing. Service was very mediocre. Food was very bleh. I ordered the Tequila Sunrise. Ground beef ommlette with salsa poured on top. Country fried chicken. NY steak. All three were very plain, nothing special at all. For plain jane breakfast, I'd rather go to Mimi's.

Best place for breakfast, great size portions and great staff. The waitresses have worked there for years, a real locals place. The eggs Benedict is killer, their hollandaise sauce is just right. When they ask if you want hash browns or those potatoes, go with THOSE POTATOES. In a mood for biscuits and gravy, its terrific. Cheers to Nick who introduced me to the snooty fox.

Found this place hidden in the corner of the Coco's shopping center behind the Jewish Deli. We waited 30 minutes for a table. I was worried about getting the Eggs Benedict after reading the Yelp reviews. But it was great. Thick sauce was lemony, so I put some Tabasco in it to make it perfect. I did not like the thick ham slices. I would rather have thin sliced ham. My hubby and I shared dishes. We also got the Chicken Fried Steak. Good steak, good gravy. I really like the homemade biscuits. My daughter's pancakes were OK. Not great, just pancakes. Over all, I really liked the place. I will be getting the Eggs Florentine next time. Oh and the biscuits.

I have been going to the Snooty Fox for over 23 years and that is saying a lot being that I'm only 25! This place is amazing no matter what way you slice it... delicious, big portions, affordable, fast services, kind servers, etc., etc. This place is my Cheers!!!

Snooty Fox is my favorite place to grab breakfast. We use to have all our friday morning meeting here for work until everyone started complaining how the service was slow. But what do you expect with a large party. Besides that, the food is really good, and the portions are pretty big.

Hrmm, how do I rate a cafe where 50-60's home styled kitsch meets some darn tasty food in Southern OC. By giving it 4 stars! So first off, the important stuff - the food. It's pretty good. Nothing outstanding, but nothing horrible either. My Corn Beef Hash was pretty good, and disappeared quickly, while my girlfriend's eggs and bacon were tolerated (She's fairly picky, and while she liked them, they were not outstanding, but not "meh" either) and were consumed fairly quickly for her. The prices are pretty good - you can get out of here for a breakfast for 2 under $20. Service was pretty decent. Fairly friendly. We were there during a bit of a rush, but I overheard their interactions with some regulars, so I give them the benefit of a doubt. All in all, it's a good local place. The character of it is... I don't know... hard to describe (homefood in a stripmall?) but the results are pretty good, and I think I'll wind up here again at somepoint.

Good solid breakfast at a reasonable price. Came in on a weekday morning. The place was filled with older men. Always a good sign. They know a good breakfast place. Had the breakfast sandwich with bacon instead of ham. Very good. My daughter devoured the fried french toast. The only downside was the waitress was somewhat snooty to us. Guess she is working at the right place.

Went here for the first time last weekend for brunch. We ordered off the breakfast menu, which is served all day. I loved their own original kind of breakfast dishes, ones I had not seen at other breakfast places, like corned beef omlette and deep fried french toast. Yes! So I just had to try the fried French toast, accompanied with 2 eggs over medium and sausage links by default. I shoulda woulda asked for sausage patty, had I been thinking on my feet. But I had only started on my coffee. As for the deep fried French toast -- wowwie! "How can you go wrong with anything deep fried?" my dining companion exclaimed. Prices are very reasonable, so I'd love to return time and again to venture around the menu. Staff was very attentive, offered to refill my coffee maybe 7 times. We sat at the soft cushioned green L bench seat, which seats 5 or 6 people, but they let us sit there with just a party of 3; all other tables had standard chairs. I can see how this is a very popular place, and so glad we got there before the crowds. I can only attribute that to good timing and happenstance. We don't have any trade secrets.

I've been coming to the Fox for over 20 yrs. For that part of OC, it's one of the better breakfast/lunch joints around. It's nothing too fancy, but has a very relaxed, downhome feel about it. The majority of the staff have been there for years and do a very good job. The food is always hot, fresh, with good sized portions. Their Eggs Benedict are amazing, the best around! Why go to a Denny's or an IHop when you can go to great local joint such as the Snooty Fox?!

  • Gabriel A.

First of all, this place has been around for decades. The owner shakes my hand nearly every visit. The waitresses make an effort to conversate. The food is stellar. This place definitely qualifies as a rustic hole-in-the-wall joint, but the food is un-freakin-believable. They make their own ranch. Their onion rings are to die for. I can go on about the countless incredible menu selections, but I'll summarize it by saying they pay particular attention to top quality ingredients and portion size is generous. The Ortega Melt is legendary at my workplace...and the chicken salad melt and the snooty fox breakfast and the chicken fried steak and the turkey croissant and the angus patty melt and the chicken salad salad...eat there and tip well. There's a particular older, thin, blonde waitress that I can say is the best waitress I've ever had at any restaurant ever.

I don't understand the 5 star ratings, maybe I just ordered the wrong things? The gourmet omelette (minus the sourcream) was flavorful and filled with avocado. The hashbrowns were nothing spectacular. The grilled french toast was normal, and the deep fried french toast was basically an extremely oily donut. If you want to feel heavy and gross, then go for the deep fried french toast. Total bill for two dishes was $17.00. I wouldn't make a special trip to eat at this place again.

The wait can be long on the weekends but the fried French toast is worth it! The sausage and biscuits are delicious too.

We had to come out here to get some auto work done and after, I yelped "Breakfast" and found this place. Came on the strength of some of the reviews, and "Those Potatoes". This place doesn't disappoint. It's what I want in a breakfast joint- not a chain, not pretentious, not expensive, they serve it into the afternoon, the food's great, the service fast and I found it very friendly, the check comes with your food and you pay at the register separately, great coffee, lots of parking, the place smells like fantastic fried potatoes when you walk up, it's homey, it's cozy, I loved it. Hubby got the chicken fried steak and eggs, toast and me, the Tequila Sunrise scramble, with two eggs scrambled with beef, onion, and green bell pepper, topped with salsa; we both got "Those Potatoes" which are hash browns with onion and green pepper mixed in. Delicious! The toast was good too and came right away with the breakfast plates. Did not have to ask for coffee refills, our waitress was on it and I never had an empty cup. Really affordable prices, I think our dishes were only $8 each and we spent less than $20 total with tax. It's not some fancy brunch place and you won't find any pretense here, but you will find some great traditional American breakfast food!

WOW i used to go here about 30 years ago, it's fantastic. great cafe style food. I can't believe it's still there. Last time i saw it was 10 years ago. They were making bomb tuna melts and ruebens... stuff like that

If i could give more than 5 stars, I would. My boyfriend and I used to go here every sunday for their breakfast. However, since we moved (it's now further from us), we go less often. But boy, do I miss their breakfast. Our standards for breakfast are set by this place. The variety is pretty standard, but everything is just so yummy!! I HIGHLY reccomend the following: grilled french toast, eggs benedict (best hollandaise sauce, EVER!), onion rings..or their breakfast plates w/ eggs, hash browns, sausage/ham/bacon is delish too! really, you can't go wrong. Their sandwiches are good (I usually get roast beef & avocado); their burgers are also really good. Everything tastes really fresh. It's very mom-pop like, which I like because you get a lot for your money, and it's tastey! I also love this place because the food reminds me of the breakfast joints in San Francisco. This is the BEST breakfast joint!! :D

Let me just say... where I have I been that I didn't find this place sooner! I enjoy breakfast occassionaly and when I do I want good breakfast. This is the place to go. Their biscuits and gravy were fantastic, the hasbrowns were what i wanted them to be and can I just say I love me some french toast and their deep fried french toast is a gift from the heavens! Yummy! Great service and great prices!

Forgot to ask about the name, does anyone know? My friend named his restaurant city restaurant after this place. My sandwich was great, and his ice cream was basic. It was pretty empty when we went, because I was just there waiting for my car to be fixed when we stumbled upon this place and decided to try it. Next time my cAr breaks I'll go back.

Good breakfast place. The first time I went to this place was on a Sunday morning.... unless you want to wait a bit and love to hang with oldies, by all means go at this time. The food portions were hearty. If you're counting calories, I suggest not to eat here because you'll deprive yourself of all the greasy goodness if you try to order "healthy". The service was great and the people that come here definitely are long time patrons. Because of its greasy-ness & wait-time, I have to give this place 3 stars.

  • Laura C.

The Snooty Fox is the epitome of diner food. This restaurant has a homey old-fashioned feel with faded wallpaper and a loud atmosphere. The portions are huge ensuring that everyone leaves with a happy stomach. I recommend sitting out on the patio where it is less noisy. Their french toast breakfast plate is filling and delicious and has encouraged me to bring friends and family along with me. I recommend the Snooty Fox for a hearty breakfast but be warned that they are always packed on the weekends. Definitely a spot with a local feel.

  • Nuggie N.

I've only been here for breakfast, but they serve lunch and dinner as well. The service has been consistently good in my experience. My server usually drops by at least 3 times during my meal to see if I need anything. The food is pretty standard American type breakfast food. I can't say that it's exceptional in any way, but it is well prepared and they give you generous portions. If Yelp allowed .5 stars, I would give this place 3.5 stars. Since it does not, I'll round up and give it 4.

Not sure what is going on at this place - we've been very gratified family customers for years and suddenly the orders are wrong and have to send them back 2 - 3 x's. How can the cook screw up a grilled cheese sandwich for my son??? I am not sure if they have a new cook or the cook is worn out....the past few times we've eaten there (late a.m. breakfast) we have not been happy with the food. Will stay away for now...not as it should be.

This is definately a locals only know about type of place. This place is a little hidden gem in lake forest. Great service, extremely nice waitresses, and great food as far as greasy breakfast goes, althou they do have a nice lunch menu as well. But another wonderful thing about this place is they sell beer here for $3.50!! Nothing snootier then having booz in the moring for $3.50 a pop!! Hell Yes

American breakfast food in a country atmosphere. The name made me think it would be more of an English pub atmosphere, but it's DEFINITELY more country. Very rustic atmosphere and decor. Positives: tasty deep fried french toast (not soggy at all!) and friendly staff. Negatives: located in a dingy strip mall, very crowded, tables very close to each other, some ingredients are obviously canned or frozen (sauces and spinach in eggs florentine). I was very unimpressed.

  • Ray R.

Great breakfast place and you can't beat the price. Good variety of eats and a friendly, efficient staff make this a good, economical breakfast place. Popular with the locals, it is a staple in South County. The place gets crowded so make sure you plan accordingly. While I hear they serve lunch and dinner I've only been there for breakfast and let me tell you it was great (and this comes from someone who doesn't particularly like breakfast)! Most meals are in the $ 7.00 range and the biscuits are delicious! Solid food, good times!

  • Derek T.

Been here for breakfast twice and I love it. The eggs florentine is great, so is the chicken friend steak. The service is also pretty awesome. Really nice, family vibe to the place with old fashioned-ish diner waitresses. Also they always refill my coffee till I have the shakes. I had driven by it thousands of times before I stopped in, and it was totally worth it. I feel like I wasted so many possibly great breakfasts.

The best breakfast ever! I took my girlfriend down here for breakfast, I kept telling her how good it was. She didn't believe me. I was right! The lunch and dinner is awesome too! If they still do dinner. You will never get a bad meal or bad service from the people at Snooty Fox. It is one of the thing I miss most about SoCal. I highly recommend this for any road trip south. It's only 15 minutes past Disneyland and it's on your way to San Diego.

Went here under rec. from a friend and Yelp reviews. Greasy spoon with good food. I ordered the French toast fried with whipped cream and strawberries with scrambled eggs and bacon, hubby got the steak burrito, and daughter got the pancake and egg kids' meal. All meals were huge. Pros: good food, fast service, coffee is always filled, quick to receive the check. Cons: I had egg shell in my scrambled eggs-boo! French toast-a little too light-as if the egg mixture never soaked into the bread. Scary bathroom-door closing and lock was a issue, the toilet was as old as the restaurant, and there were two old, broken down, dusty chairs in there-why?, and overall restaurant decor is very dated. The waitresses are friendly, but I swear they must have a set dress code of high socks, Lee shorts, and braided pony tails-a little weird. Overall, the food would bring me back if I was in the area-not sure I'd drive from my home just to eat there though.
